Is west bengal corrupt state
I am just shocked and surprised that residents of west bengal and kolkata especially are not discussing corruption in the system, be it courts or policing or doing business.
Will we ever get better if we dont even discuss and just pay bribes left right and center? more

Dear Mr. Benerjee, You are absolutely right and we all are agreed. But question is that who will solved it? Sorry to say that all are sitting in power, politicians are already set an example in corruption field. We are helpless. Yes, there is always a way but who will knot the bell in the cat. Thanks S. May be one of the most corrupted state, where we don't even feel that we are bribing someone. Even the bribes person think that it's there deserving money. Most importantly although u bribed, then also u can't assure ur work will be done or not more

We do discus and take measures too. But when we see that the other States are more corrupt the we stop and stare and become dumb. I won't name communities but there are people from those communities who promotes corruption and employs and encourage people to corrupt duly putting the gun on someone's shoulder. At least in Bengal people have sanity and as we know that the entire system is affected by warps, most of Bengali people stay aloof and create distances. Perhaps you have seen what has happened to Karnataka/Maha/MP/Tamil etc where people are very affluent? Well, if you go by their honest income they're almost at par but if you go by spending capacity they're far ahead of Bengal. India was all along a corrupt country, if you read the history carefully, even from the Vedic time! And that's the reason why so many Avatar/Holy Scripturas etc were from India; needless to say that to inculcate sense of honesty as well as to built characters. more

Being a bengali of West Bengal , I feel Mr Banerjee has rightly pointed out corruption & no reaction from people My perception is that somehow due to fear created by political pary & their sycophants, people of WB have lost the currurage to protest & go against the system Let's hope people will soon get up from sleeping & make straight their Back bone and protest /atleast minimize corruptions to bring back our original WB inplace of internal peace & harmony more
