Is opening of liquor shops, in the midst of Corona upsurge, a right decision??????
When the world is breaking its head to find a cure for Coronavirus, our Governments have come out with a terrible liquid solution to eject the Corona fear out of the minds of people (Voters)…. Unlike the soap solution which has to be applied only on the outer part of the human body, this one is a step further, as it has to be consumed………to drive out the Coronavirus from inside!!!!
This is height of brilliance and certainly deserves an award.
In my view something similar to “Butcher of Uganda” (Idi Amin) award should be created…. for two reasons:
1) Timing
With the COVID-19 count in unbelievable explosion.. and peak yet to reach…
2) Poor & Middleclass already in doldrums
With no jobs/work for the last 40 days (even beyond) and everyone with begging bowl….
Thru the announcement of Lockdown 3.0 coupled with relaxations for recovery of economy, the Central Government has gone into Self-Isolation!!!!!!!
State governments have started playing their games as if there is no epidemic situation in the states..
And the most terrible game is 'opening Liquor shops.......'
Like a flock of birds, our habitual drunkards are besieging the Wine shops, risking not only their lives but also their family lives...
Is opening of liquor shops, in the midst of mounting +ve cases, a right decision????

Is there not a viable alternative solution for ‘Indian Made Foreign Liquor’ mafia business???

Well responded post with diverse options and opinions . How true about India . If governments had kept liquor away from public till may end , many would have dropped from the habit .As the continuous 4 lockdowns would have taken the dependance away from the drinking population causing a huge fall in Liqor revenue for the government . Actually the deaddiction period in a treatment centre is 21 days . That is half the number of days in a Mandalam. It requires one mandalam to get rid of a habit or cleanse the system of imourities . Treatment centres with accompanying medicines and Counselling the period is halved . Any ay despite the crowds in shops many have given up . The government will not sell the sae quantity again for quite some time . So the prices will be have to be raised to ofset the loss .
