Is lockdown inevitable

India reported approximately 65000 Cases last Friday and yesterday 1,45,384 cases.

No country came out if its wave without a lockdown. See UK 2.5 months of lockdown and in parallel vaccination and see where they are now.

In India just because we had a tough time last year with lockdown People in Government and many citizens including majority in circle think NO Lockdown. We will be in a mess without lockdown with these weekend lockdowns and night curfews. They will not do the job. more

Lock down is not the solution this we have seen last year. Ayush Mantrlaya must promote ayurveda with immediate effect and create awareness among the people how to improve the immunity. Remember if the immune system is strong then one can even fight with cancer effectively. more
Lock down is not essential, till people take preventive measures. more
Lockdown for a limited period with strict enforcement of sop may be able to control the spread of virus. However during the lockdown period daily needs of the people should be taken care of by the Govt. may be on payment or free. All shops and commercial activities may be allowed under strict orders to run with comprehensive anti-covid protocol. Daily wage earners may be provided with some temporary work or some money to sustain. All election activities may be suspended for a few months. more
Government keeps saying how well India fared, questionable for many including myself, in the lockdown. Quoting Tom Friedman's book, although in a different context, "...but that was then, this is now,", further "...not a real past but an imagined and adorned past" from which many may derive self-worth. "Adorned" with statements like India handled pandemic the best. Really? Look at empirical data on daily cases or even deaths! Lockdown has been used up as an option. In fact the overused option! more
The State Governments should strictly enforce covid protocol to check spread of virus. But awefully, politicians remain busy in making or breaking governments and other money minting jobs. India is poor country having very large population. It is just not possible to feed 140 crore people without work. During lockdowns, only Govt. employees and pensioners (5% of population) enjoy life and rest go in deep depression as they can't survive without work. Daily wagers, small businessmen are the worst affected. The Govt. also loses revenue. Many States are already on the verge of bankruptcy. As such, it will be totally un-wise step to impose lockdown. more
Agree completely. more
Exactly Correct. States grossly Neglecting Preventives more
