investment by retd persons

Jr category of employees retired from PSUs, got gratuity Rs 8 lakhs to 15 lakhs ,this amount in put FDs were a regular monthly income in place of pension.

Rate of interest declining, earning becomes lesser, at the same time prices of essential items and medicines are rising;hence very difficult to balance the budget.

Therefore, to insulate from falling interest rate Varistha Pension Bima Yojana of LIC be capped to Rs 20 lakhs (@9% interest) so that one PSU retiree gets monthly Rs 15000/= almost similar to pension of Govt Jr employee more

More than 20 years ago, there was a mandatory stipulation in Govt. service that only those who passed the E.B. ( EFFICIENCY BAR) would be given the next Pay-scale or promotion . Later on , due to immense pressure from the politically influential employees , this E.B. was done away with. The political associations claimed that this E.B. was being used , by their superiors in the Dept. to harass the employees. This was only a lame excuse to do away with EFFICIENCY IN GOVT. SERVICE. Now , all Govt. servants get the next Pay-scale or Promotion without doing anything worth-while. Many of these Association members have entered the Govt. depts. through un-fair means , either by bribing or by political influence. eg. One M.Phil. in Pali (Bihari babu ) language , had been posted at the A,G. 's office at Trivandrum . He was unable to do any work due to ignorance of English . Yet he was receiving huge Govt. salary . Obviously , he was inducted into the Central Govt. due to some Union Railway Minister's influence . If the present B.J.P. govt. wants the citizens to vote for the B.J.P. , it needs to address all such issues in the Govt. administration . Do not let the ignorant persons , from the Reservation category de-moralize the hard-working employees. Better post them in the various Union Ministries where they need not do any kind of work . They are the most PRIVILEGED CITIZENS OF INDIA !!!! RIGHT ?? more

1. Insurance co's should devise policy coverage without exclusion, by adding a % of premium for every exclusions, of course the waiting period to stay.- like cataract, hernia etc. 2.once BP, Diabatese etc are declared and premium charged, it should be held covered. This is the Best way the govt and insurance cos can service the society there by reducing many costs. 3.We indians have the mentality to save at our cost to give it to the children. That attitude needs a change. 4.May be Govt. to bring in an act that limits the values of those left behind. This will reduce many other chain of actions. more

I don't agree with the comments of Mr Devinder Sharma. The necessity of saving is individually based. Some can utilize their Principle amount for improving their life style but the others need money for themselves and for dependents. You are not considering the shrinking purchasing power of senior citizens. They need more amount for health. All health insurance companies in India are not accountable to anybody and they are there only to make easy money. They are cheaters with Govt. support. For every case one has to run to court where decisions are never given in ones lifetime. SCSS ( senior Citizen Saving scheme) interest rates should be brought back to 9.3% with deposit limit increased to 30 Lakhs. PPF interest rates should also be made at par with SCSS. Agricultural income beyond 15 Lakhs should be taxed. There are several crores of people who are showing their income as Agriculture income even beyond 1 crore and don't pay any tax. The growth in Agricultural Sector and Manufacturing sector is going down year after year. Govt. should focus on such matters and demonstrate good governance. more
