Inordinate delay in getting justice at Consumer Redressal Forums

There was a news item in the newspaper FPJ, Mumbai dated 21.11.22 , on an order given by Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Mumbai Suburban, Bandra, regarding a dispute relating to TV set. I keep reading about many cases of recent filing,  which get decided in a very short time, a year or two. Even this case was filed in 4th quarter of 2020 and has aleady been decided. At the same time majority of the cases are languising at the same Bandra Forum, filed years back,  wherein the full legal procedure including filing of arguments has  been completed years back, with just the final hearing kept pending. But those cases are given date after date and still remain undecided. In my case, this has been happening since 2015 after filing of written arguments. On the date of hearing, the next date, which is 3 to 4 months later, is put up on the website a couple of days before the impending date. That means, we get 3 to 4 dates a year and all dates are wasted. Will the decision given any time later, with or without any relief provided, hold any relevance for me ? Wonder what is the criterea applied to each case for delivering a timely decision ? How come cases filed just a year or two before, are getting decided while others wait their turn endlessly ? The act clearly states that cases have to be decided within 6 months. But that does not happen. Consumer Redressal Forums were established for speedy justice by following a simple, inexpensive process. What use if the consumer has to go up the ladder of legal machinery with petitions for speedy decision, to get timely redressal ? more

JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED. This is what is happening presently. On line with IAS, Govt must start a Competitive Exam for Judiciary and select the cream from all over India. There should not be shortage of Judges. Their timings have to be increased and working days have also to be increased . Corrupt Practices are to be done away with. more
In my case the full procedure has been completed in 2015, except my own appearance for verbal argument, which I am ready to do any day. Yet date after date. But in the case I have mentioned, the complaint is filed in 4th quarter of 2020 and already decided in 2022. Obviously its taken out of turn. So whats the criteria for such out of turn decisions ? more
There is need to amend the laws to allow 3 hearings in each cases. Every case should be decided within 6 months max. The business of TAAREEKH PE TAAREEKH must end. This is the dirtiest business infested in our justice delivery system due to non accountability. more
I have a case at consumer forum against an insurance company, since 2017 the insurance company appeared only on 1-2 dates, later on consumer court decided to make it one way contested as opposite party the insurance company was not appearing. But this happened 3 years back, even after 3 years of one sided contest, and after listing all arguments and evidences in front of the court, the learned consumer court didn't even list the straightforward case for the judgement and still giving dates for the arguments. I don't know why they are not able to solve a straightforward case even after 5 + years of listing. Faith have been getting shaken in such infinite non time bound justice system. more
Simple. The Judge is born corrupt and shameless. Sir, forget your case but not before the judge involved is publically and mercilessly whipped at least 2000 times . To hell with the KAYDA KANOON. This is the only language bloody Indians understand. more
