Inflation Index as high as 30% at Britannia
Brittania Marie Gold Biscuits were being sold @ Rs. 10/89 g until September 2017 but the latest packing available dated 7/10/17 has raised the prices by about 30%. The price is maintained at Rs. 10/- but the quantity has been reduced to 68 g. Of course since this is the first changed packaging they are currently selling as 30% extra. The Govt. and all related organizations are requested to look into this aspect. Has the cost of manufacturing increased by 30% on GST implementation. This is a case of authorised loot. more

The related government agencies should be instructed by the government to keep close watch over the activities of the manufacturers and appropriately deal with all cases of price rising at the excuse of GST and inflict punitive actions on them. more

Believe that only consumer resistance by way of consciously refraining from buying these products and looking for alternative cheaper products will help... Periodic rotation of brands, even at the cost of sacrificing your preferences temporarily, will definitely prevent tendencies of monopolistic pricing .... more
