A good collection of articles Aditi. Since the names are Mulayam Singh Yadav and Abu Azmi, you will certainly win your argument. If you do some research, there are more genuine and prominent personalities who have said the same thing. Delhi Ex-CM: http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/sheila-dikshits-comments-draw-flak/article1350681.ece Anna: http://www.mid-day.com/articles/lets-ad-dress-the-real-issue/148804 Upon Mumbai Shakti Mill case: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/other-states/womens-panel-member-under-fire-for-rape-remark/article5630517.ece There are so many. It is not just a gender rape situation. I see poor people get raped financially, mentally, physically everywhere just because someone in power has no fear of punishment. Our judiciary is actually promoting every worsening situation. Everyone knows what is bad and still crime is uncontrolled. No statement is needed to reveal the reality of the situation. People within our society are not sensitive enough to understand the meaning of freedom and justice for common men and women. more
When ever we talk about sex crimes against women we never want to discuss on the root cause of the problem but we just talk about bringing toughest laws against such crimes or banning the documentary like we have just done this for India's daughter. When Nirbhaya case took place in Delhi and Justice Verma committee was constituted by centre govt that time to recommend appropriate laws to control such crimes. But now after two years the ground reality is whether really we have been able to control such crimes since then . Even new toughest laws against rape which are being misused by many ladies also to settle their personal accounts against men. Even as per Times of India report 70% acquittals were there alone in Delhi in 2013 in the cases of sex crimes where in most of such cases are listened by lady judges in courts now. That time in 2013 even i wrote one letter to Justice J.S.Verma from abroad suggesting about legalizing prostitution in India to control such sex related crimes. Now the main problem of such sex crimes in India is late age marriages. Before marriages were taking place in India in early teen ages or early twenties and there was no such crimes like we see now these days . We have to accept it that Sex is a need like other needs in our life and this is a universal truth. People who are committing such crimes in NCR are mainly poor , illiterate people who come here for their livelihood. Not only this we are also exposed to porn sites which is also one of the reason behind such crimes. So considering the above facts govt must take steps to legalize prostitution in our country to make the life of our sisters and daughters safe. Merely discussion on TV channels and banning such documentary can't help control such crimes but we will have to strike on its root cause understanding psychological and scientific reasons behind such crimes. more
I fully agree . And truth be told, I suspect many of our ''older'' mantris and MPs too ,are of this medieval mind-set. The statement recorded by this film director, rightly or wrongly, of the disgusting utterances of the brutal rapist and his ignorant, perverted lawyer are indeed shaming. But is it not an honest reflection of the thinking of many amidst our masses? There are sections of society which have been branded dangerous ..I shall not name them for reluctance to cause another uproar (we are very good at that)...while we all know lack of education, lack of decent living conditions, lack of hope, lack of role models in the right direction, lack of anything decent, kind and civilised in their own lives, can steer humanity towards roughness, crudeness and cruelty...its always the weaker, women and children who have to bear the brunt of such people's lashing out and rage. No. If we are to set this right, if we are to move in the direction of what makes a CIVILISED NATION, we MUST have very stringent laws, we MUST have proper policing (although police themselves, often coming from such backgrounds, are often of the same mind set) and safe streets. Women are becoming bread earners. They are moving out of their houses in the effort to work. Instead of being admired for their determination and grit, there is jealousy, resentment and yes, even hate.... this is the real reason to want to put them down and teach them a lesson by brute force..... QUESTION: Why are those heinous killers not put out of our misery till date? Why are they lingering on after what they did to a young woman who never harmed them and having put us on the map aS being a disgusting, perverted, dangerous country where women can be treated in any manner by brutes and pounded to death for no other fault but that of being FEMALE. more
