At times of crisis like this we need some guidelines on how the COVID19 Patients should get treatment at justifiable cost and also with a choice .
The choice is classified into 2 broad Category for the purpose of charges based on the severity of the disease .
* Covid 19 patients with MILD TO MODERATE SYMPTOMS to be charged Rs. 2,31,820 for 10 days treatment .

EXCLUSIONS : Doctors consultation Fees ,Quarantine and food expenses for Doctors & other staff working in the centre . which presumed to be Rs. 9,600 Per Day.
* Patients with SEVERE SYMPTOMS Rs, 4,31,311 for 17 days treatment .
Inclusions: Accommodation , Equipment, Administrative ,Pharmacy, Consumables and Investigation:
Exclusions : Doctors consultation Fees ,Quarantine and food expenses for Doctors & other staff working in the centre . which presumed to be Rs. 9,600 Per Day.
For mild to moderate symptoms for 10days around Rs. 3,30,000
For severe symptoms for 17days around Rs.5,95,000. more

A useful data as comparison. This means minimum costs ranging between rupees 23k (+ 10k) and 35k (+ 10k) per day, depending upon the seriousness of the case. 33k - 45k per day. Someone raised a question: "how many can afford this?". The question is not unjustified and is valid. If my memory serves me right, some private hospital (name was not mentioned, only a board was shown) in Mumbai had announced charges of Rs.23k to 33k per night for room only. Ventilator costs were to be extra. No details were given on what was inclusive and what was exclusive. After this was published in LocalCircles a new board was put up with charges of around 4k/night. There is no proof of authenticity of those posts, because the name of the hospital in Mumbai was never mentioned. Mr Jayakumar's stats appear authentic because these are supported by the local newspaper. And yet the question remains: how many can afford this? The assessors need to provide a more transparent breakdown of how they arrive at those figures. They'll surely say, that they are not obliged to. And then we shall all be back to square one...... more

I was promped to post thais as Circle members from Delhi and Mumbai had posted Bills of Rs. 9 Lakhs and 11 Lakhs . This seemed a bit reasonable and treatment days and every break up clearly mentioned . more

The Govt needs to foot the bill from the disaster management funds set aside, as covid has been declared a pandemic and a national disaster. In several countries the bills being footed by the Govt. or being heavily subsidised. Our guys more interested in it seems spending money on aimless political projects like the central vista with an outlay of 20,000 cr??? more
