Income Tax Refund Delay
I am a senior citizen and filed my return on the 18th Oct but till date (23rd Dec) I have not recd my refund. I have called their Helpline no also many times. They say they will lodge my complaint but still there is no response. According to them there is no problem, just that it is under process. Could someone guide me as to what could be the reason ?

Well I do not hesitate to say what govt is talking is not being implemented. Common man is being sucked of his blood but sadly death is not coming. I have annuity payment of 1.4Lakh. The company dedcuted TDS of 3740RS. I filed for refund on 13 June 2021 and in November my refund was refused for nom reason given. I then filed a complaint and two month later it was again refused with no reason given. My maiuls never reach the Finance Minister who thinks she is doing justice to common retiree. AT LEAST LET THE INCOME TAX HAS SOME SENSE TO GIVE A REASON WHY MY REFUND IS NOT BEING GIVEN. Secondly I have small EPF pension of 1349 RS PM. I filed my life certificate on 4 October 2022 as govt issue a circular that we can give life certificate anytime. I took help pf home service from SBI and they dedcuted RS99 for the same. BUT TO MY SHOCK MY PENSION WAS STOPPED FROM DECEMBER 2021. Many complaint but the EPF commissioner does not know what govt rules exist and just refused to release the same. I have now again sent a new life certificate in January 2022 using the home service. BUT REGRET I HAVE NOT GOT MY PENSION FOR DECEMBER 2021 AND JANUARY 2022. THIS IS WHAT OUR GOVT IS DOING FOR SENIOR RETIREE OF THIS COUNTRY. more

All ITR-1 people are getting refunds within a week or even 2 days, but ITR-3 or 4 processing itself, is taking time, I have verified this with many of my friends... Maybe some issue lingering in the new S/W more

nOTHING LIKE THAT. FOR ITR 1 REFUND IS INSTANT. FOR 3 OR FOUR , WE ARE GETTING IT WITHIN A WEEKS TIME. THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY WARNING WHILE FILING THE FORM. IF THERE IS AWARNING, YOUR REFUND SHALL BE DELAYED. more

Simply filing grievances or calling helpline will not help. Just verify your filed return particularly with AIS and Form 26 AS and whether all required details have been duly furnished. This year refunds are faster than anything. We get the refund even before Acknowledgement is printed. If it is delayed there have to be some reasons. Refunds have already been issued for the return of Income filed up to 27th December, 2021. more
