Implementation of Recommendations

Mid last year and a few months back, it was recommended by this circle that a code of ethics for elected Member of Parliament be put in place. Both these submissions were made to the key stakeholders.

We are pleased to share with you that a new chapter titled “Ethics” has been inserted to the Rules of Procedure in LS which are attached.

But, if we think that ''now that a new chapter titled “Ethics” has been inserted to the Rules of Procedure in LS'', all our MPs will become good boys, we will be bigger fools. Let the government show some grit and determination to uphold the 'Rule of Law', not by merely inserting chapters on ''Ethics'' and ''Morals'' and looking the other way when it doesn't work. Was/is the unruly behaviour of some of the habitual offender-MPs/MLAs due to the absence of these moral lessons? Hypocrisy, not democracy, we thrive in! more
