If politician are responsible for polution , farmers are more culprit
dog fight verbally among politicians for any core issue will not give us better life - better avoid them . Problem is ours and we are suffering by the act of farmers .
a) pollution in air by burning straw every year by the farmer is chronic , No one is ready to convince them nor the farmers ready to hear . They do not have social responsibility that why they keep doing this every year !
b) Farmers knows that using too much pesticides in crops and vegetable will damage the entire consumer - but they do for profit maximization .
c) Farmers knows that using too much fertilizer will damage the natural soil but they do
d) Farmers knows that entire soluble in pesticides and fertilizer will mix the ground water and it will reach to human stomach and spoil the kidney , liver , heart etc of human but they do .
e) After all the total moto is to profit maximization by hook or by crook. They have subsidy , MSP also going up day by day from of taxed money whereas the entire act hits to the buyer who actually help them to grow.
https://www.dailypioneer.com/2024/columnists/transforming-lives--of-the-indian-farmers.html Through modern infrastructure, expanded credit support, and sustainable farming methods, PM Modi’s policies are revolutionising Indian agriculture. We are not suffering through the act of farmers. Under PM's leadership, the government is making unprecedented efforts for the empowerment and upliftment of the agriculture sector. We are committed to increasing farmers' income, which is reflected in schemes such as the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), and PM AASHA. Post-harvest losses in India are a major challenge, which threatens the production capacity of the agricultural sector and it also adversely impacts the hard work put in by lakhs of farmers. According to the latest estimates, about 16-18 per cent of the total food production is affected every year in India due to this.

Agree. Since last 73 years we are still having 50% population dependant upon agriculture, which yield 1/7 the gross domestic product by comparison. The government could work on diversification, insofar as facilitating growing protien giving pulses and fat containing oilseeds, apart from moving farmers towards industry taking the second leap forward in development. The former would also take care of stubble, and rather crop diversification is environmentally healthier for soil too. Government's fiscal incentives have incentivised the 2 crop monocultures, the grains, that contributes to the nearing a lakh tonne grain central pool. Now a large percentage thereof eaten by rodents, adding to our woes, rather than assuaging starvation.

We have a habit of blaming the other for our own wrongdoings whether it is political parties or the public. I think we should look inwards. The Delhi public is as much to blame. There should not have been a single cracker burnt for Diwali if we were really concerned about our health. Why blame the poor farmer if we ourselves cannot refrain from bursting crackers.

In India, or may be in most countries, you do certain wrongs because you are ignore / allowed to do. Politician and certainly law enforcement agencies are solely to be blamed for this mess. Imagine you pay tax and you suffer, because of those who do not pay tax, rather on top of it they get subsidy and what not. And government is even now planning to subsidy the stubble burning machines. Farmers are a big vote bank all over, like some minorities, they twist government's arm whenever they want. But I personally feel anybody would do anything if they are allowed to ! So squarely its politicians to be blamed.
