I want to Black List CANARA BANK, CUFFE PARADE - HEAVILY CORRUPTED BANK
Canara Bank is a highly corrupted bank as far as Mortage Loan is concerned. All their Managers / Officers take kick back to process the loans and since the officers get transferred in three years and you do not have any say against them.
I have been cheated by them to the tune of 1 crore.
Be very careful to deal with such corrupted banks in India.
Mr. Swapan should have highlighted this issue at very first rather than general observation of Canara bank officials. If the portion of property was to be mortgaged, was it clearly demarcated with specific notice board put on it? Secondly why injunction or stay was not taken before the auction? Auction is never secret & minimum 15 days advance notice is given. People who are participating in auction are also allowed to check the documents and visit the site. Were you vigilant enough to track this is a matter of point.

In a ground level there are plenty customers who are not happy with the service of canara bank, its the staff who are spoiling the image of this banks , one of them is the Nerul branch (east) , where you can see customers quarrelling everyday with the bank staff. I was holding account there since 2007 , was so frustrated and left with no option other than to close my account with that branch .There are plenty examples to give which is foolish in all the sense , one of them is : All servers of the canara bank was down for almost 6 hours , I was unable to do online transaction and rushed to branch for deposit , the staff said the server is down and we are unable to do any transaction activity and because of this my housing loan EMI returned , both banks levied charges/penalty. The Canara bank manager refused to accept that the fault was of them , later reversed the charges after my complain registered in Canara head office, but I have to bear losses since HDFC refused to reverse their penalty. This is one great example how customer have to bear losses because of Banks own problem. I have a plenty examples of such .Its a problem of staffs attitude and working strategy but not the fault of Canara bank itself , since my colleagues do maintain account with canara bank in other branches of Gurgaon and Delhi. Bank staff don't have complete information of their own products and will ask you to check on website. I was been asked to check their website when I enquired about the housing loan to the manager.I have applied for the housing loan with this branch and based on the assurance of manager I made my part payment and stamp duty registration , but the process of loan disbursement never took place for almost 90 days and the owner refused the deal, My money got stuck for almost 8 months and I lost almost 1 lac . Later I applied with HDFC and got disbursement within 2 weeks . You need lot of patience may be also yoga session to maintain your mind cool if you want to maintain your account with this branch. There are plenty issues which I have experienced and will take one complete day to report.

Thank you all for being supportive. I am fighting case with Canara Bank as the mortage loan is given to the purchaser of my property. His account became NPA and the property got attached. The mortgage is for a portion of property but Canara Bank auctioned the total property even though there was an instruction from court judge not to sell the property. But look at the Manager who handled the case, before retirement he sold the property in auction and retired. Now no body wants to handle the issue. MY WISH IS THAT CANARA BANK SHOULD GO BANKRUPT WITH THE SUPPORT OF PEOPLE. IT IS POSSIBLE IF PEOPLE DO NOT TRANSACT WITH SUCH BANKS.

No Doubt that in PSU's there are certain procedures it appears to useless & red tape to us, of course, they have also bit speeded up. Now a days. But they never will be hand in glove with the Builders, due to system & norms in place. One of my friend has booked a 2 BHK flat with a Home Loan. He opted for SBI though various other private banks were ready to finance him on the spot. Of course, negligible less interest rate. As & when the construction progress the Bank will make payment directly to the Builder, at various stages as agreed upon. This arrangement is common with both the PSU & Private Banks/Institutions. But as & when the work progress & payment due for that particular stage of construction. My friend used to get a call from SBI on the request of builder & get his approval to release his sanctioned loan amount. So, my friend could able to check the progress & approve to release payment for the finished stage of work.(Plinth level, first flour,second floor etc,) this has happened at every stage of the completion of the Building he used to get a call & payment released to the builder. On the contrary, when I had booked a flat with HDFC, I got approved & other paper work done with minimal period of time. But that was the last time I heard from them, Builder & Bank decided how & when to get our payment, I have not kept in loop. Yes I heard from them once, to pay interest for the disbursed amount to the builder since the builder has delayed the project under the guise of PreEMI interest for the part of the amount disbursed to them. Later on I fought with them & meekly they waived off the same as I was furious since it was their own approved project & the Builder. Now tell me who is safe guarding our interest. Even though the the Builder submitted his payment request to SBI with relevent papers & process still SBI has checked with my friend before releasing the payment. They have not took the out and out decision like HDFC which has never kept informed us about this. Their claim is that the whole project is financed by them so they have got a hold etc.,,, but when he delayed they rushed to me to collect pre emi interest... If we check the Data s of housing finance disbursement it is more fraudulent deal are happened in Private Banks rather than PSU, especially, in metros that in Mumbai with highest registered FIR - lot of people lost their hard earned money. Now again there is a little upward movement or push in real estate/ construction market sensing the boom again these Builder-Bank noxious cartel raising its head. Up till now they are successful in delaying the formation of Real Estate Regulating Agency. The Govt. both Central & State must bring in the Regulator ASAP. Tx

Agree with working system of canara bank, its an nationalized bank and works the same way as our BMC and other government institution works. I too suffered a big losses in the process of Loan application . 3 months for Loan processing and they have a very strange funny useless strategy. One day I will drag them to consumer court .
