HP Cheated me by replacing lower spec laptop motherboard.
I bought a HP laptop - Pavillion 15 Gaming 15-ec0066AX from Flipkart for Rs.53,490 and recieved it on June 30,2020.
After 1 month of usage the laptop regularly gets overheated and switches off when running any game or other high gpu softwares for 10-15mins.
I contacted HP and after weeks of communication the engineer came for an onsite visit. At first they replaced the fan and issue not solved. Then they ordered for a new motherboard and then replaced my motherboard.
Then laptop was working but after 2 weeks only..i found out that they replaced it with a lower specification version.
My laptop is supposed to have a dedicated 1650gtx 4gb graphics card...but after the service replacement they changed it to Nvidia 1050 3gb.
Which means they changed my laptop into a downgraded version which costs about 10,000Rs lesser.
I was purely being cheated.
At first, the product i recieved was defective and on top of that they cheated me by replacing cheap motherboard.
I registered a complaint on National Consumer Helpline as i wanted a whole unit replacement of my laptop ...and they advised me to send a mail and wait for 10 working days.
And now HP informed me that I am not eligible for whole unit replacement...they say it is possible for the first 2 weeks only.
Now NCH advised me to approach the District Consumer Court.
I dont want any more repairs for this unit (imagine already they serviced for more than 4-5 times).
I need a whole unit replacement of the laptop.
I have the serivce report proof where HP service team of Kollam,Kerala (Inspire Technologies) have verified and confirmed that there was a mistake in the service.
Is it possible for me to get a whole unit replacement?...
on approaching Consumer Court.?
These manufacturers are taking advantage of time taken for deciding cases in Indian courts. Unless there is a time limit in courts, justice is denied only.

Mr. Arjun.......I am sorry for what ever has happen to you in buying an expensive Laptop from M/s FlipKart. I am sure you must be aware that FlipKart do not manufacture any thing by itself. They have millions of the vendors who are registered with them who sells the products. There are chances that the vendor would not have been registered to sell that product. Secondly I have been raising the issue on this form for a pretty long time that Please ....please do not buy expensive products online i.e. TV, Fridge, Mobiles, Laptops, etc. online. It would be advisable to drive in to the nearest authorized Showroom of the product, feel the product, bargain to any extent and then buy it. At least Authorized Dealer would be answerable to some extent for selling the product. If you have a lawyer friend, please arrange to sent a Court Notice to HP. Service Centers are all Franchise of the Original Company. Service Center employees are not on the pay roll of HP but they would say that they are from HP.

Please approach the consumer court. Defaulters should be brought to justice. You have a valid case. You didnt pay 53K to buy a defective product. If the court rules in favour, I believe, the legal charges and compensation for mental and emotional harassment can be charged. Please approach a good lawyer who can properly guide you.

Arjun, you made a few mistakes. HP is contractually correct. Pls read the lengthy terms and conditions of warranty. Repair is different, unit replacement is different. They are managed by different sections. When a mother board is replaced, usually it old repaired, recycled part. You can insist on getting back your original motherboard after repair. It will take lots of time. Somebody in HP repair centre should be sympathetic to your issue and put in lot of man hours in coordinating the logistics. If you are lucky you may get another motherboard with same hardware specs. Good Luck.

what mistake?
Please read it once again.
I dont want the original motherboard.
The laptop was defective and they repaired by replacing the motherboard(with lower version).
And now when i pointed out this cheating.. they said they would once again do repair by replacing with another motherboard(Equivalent version to the original).
And What i want is whole unit replacement of the laptop itself.
