How to correct the jurisdiction entered in ITR
In the recently e-filed and uploaded ITR, I had entered the Jurisdiction details i.e. ward and circle of last year's.When I casually happened to check them I found that they are changed. How can I correct this? Do I have to e-file a revised ITR for this?
Dear Mr. Vilas, I fully agree with you. I have also played safe by resubmitting the ITR as revised under revised sec 139(5). This was suggested by the helpdesk after I sought the solution. It is always easy to be safe rather than struggle and beg before them unnecessarily though it is not a serious issue. But I wonder why during the validation of the ITR (when e-filed) it does not get corrected automatically as the with PAN already filled in?

RESP.SHRIPADJI, I feel personally that the mistake in ito ward will not be taken seriously.but to be on saferside you can revise return online if e filed and if not processed by dept.as i tried the menu to change itr form submitted already shows only three fields-bank a/c details, address ,and mobile number as allowed(correction allowed) fields in drop down .it can be taken that to change anything else within rules, you need to revise return.else keep mum but under tension that dept may take it as non submission of return-i do not know.i will share my very bad experience in my case when such ward was innocently written and paer return was sent under regd ad-it was accepted by that depart.but not forwarded to proper dept.just underthem( i.e on floor just below them in same wing and building.similar bad experience is that cpc bangluru and concerned i t ward in pune (both two different depts at different places working for i tax dept.)feel shame to talk to each other on their office telephones also for settling grievence of assessee.even no one is ready to share office telephone also to us.that is how they work?????

It is not important at all, as long as your PAN is there, th syste will connect automatically. Just forhet about it and sleep well.

Actually I tried to remove the jurisdiction in my Excel sheet that was filled in and tried to validate the same. It gets validated without asking the jurisdiction. That means the same is not mandatory and important. The CPC can link the return with the correct jurisdiction on the basis of PAN. Once again thanks to those for their advice.
