Highest Ever Funding of Rs. 1.5 Lakh Crore for Railways
General public are not interested in how much the Railways have received funds from other sectors. They are interested how much better deal they are going to get in terms of affordable rail fare, how comfortable they are likely to travel, how safe their journey would be (they want to reach the destination without loosing their property, without bruises and accidents as well of fatal accident). First the railway must provide these, basic things and then expand its vision wider and high. The Railway first plug the loopholes through which its funds run away, namely, unwanted/wasteful expenditure due to higher officials bad decisions, inbuilt corruptions, revising the fare structure according rational norms, Providing Free Railway passes(two and more sets in a year) as well of 1/3 fare tickets (called PTO) from Kashmir to Kanyakumari or NE State to SW States which erodes railway funds by several crores, wasting railway properties un cared and underutilized for years together, keeping excess staff in several Railway zones due to Union pressure, etc. If the above are done much better work could be done and get good name fromgeneral public.
