Gurgaon streets in bad shape
Most of the streets in Gurgaon are full of Potholes and for some there are portions where road is missing. Carterpuri Road is an example. Thousands of vehicles use it as bypass from old Gurgaon Delhi road. It helps decongest it. But it is left at God's mercy. Maruti converted abou 500m to concret on its own. Looks MCG is awaiting donors to metal it.

There is an all round corruption in Roads maintenance in Gurgaon. About 2 years back Sector 23 road was remetalled but within a month or even less time it converted into dust. Looks there was a vigilance case and the road was redone meeting all specifications. This surface is intact for last two years. But what is surprising the contractor resurfaced some more streets and Carterpuri road is one which was resurfaced and where the road surface vanished within a month. But no body asked contractor to redo it as well as other streets which met same fate. Though vigilance action was there but side by side some hands protected the contractor with closed eyes - obviously to keep eyes closed and ears shut they must have received compensation. Government pays its employees to supervise and contractors pay them to not to supervise. Its a win win situation only fools in public works will remain honest. Should not these public money guzzlers be hanged and relieve public of rogues once for all. more

Apart from the pot holes, there is a need to look at the footpaths and the speed breakers. On Sohna Road the footpaths are occupied by the traders or small shop owners for extending their shop space. There are unauthorised kiosks selling pan and cigarettes etc., The foot paths are one and half feet high making it impossiible for old people to climb on to the footpath. The speed breakers are installed not as per the norms, but to the whims and fancies of the traders/ local politicians/ Builders,causing traffic jams or even accidents. The drainage line between Subhash Chowk and Malibu town under the service road has been laid about eight years ago but still is defective and the road is dug up often. The median is opened up near JMD and after Omaxe Mall for U turn but the dug up portion is not properly finished more

Narendra Mathur has rightly posted about roads. In Gurgaon most of the roads inside/ outside posh colonies roads are in bad shapes with full of poke holes. Very difficult to walk even. The reason being that builders are not able to collect maintenance charges regularly from the the owners of properties & houses. Some builders have hand over the maintenance & other essencetial services to RWA's who are trying to make money rather than looking after welfare of societies . A clear example is Nirvana City & South city II. The roads from Nirvana city to south city II pocket A to I upto entry point at Sona Road are in very very horrible shape. Unitech has hand over maintenance to RWA. There are many many RWA in one socities fighting each other & collecting / making money from collection from residents try fold what they were paying to Unitech. There is another example of May Field where drinking water crises & buying twater tankers for past many months. Situation is very complex as HUDA s trying to handover these sectors & colonies to MCG who do not have infrastructure & manpower to maintain & take care of essential services like water, roads, electricity , sever etc. Acting Commissioner of MCG Gurgaon IAS Officer Mr. Satya Prakas Ji had several brain storming meeting to find solution of it but so far no outcome. The situation in south Gurgaon will worsen soon & suferer will be only residents. RWA's of almost all sector & socities are trying to grab it from builder to cook their bread from collected money & make profit out of it. It's only the residents who have to come forward & Sumit a memorandum to Governament of Gurgaon. Please she are my thoughts to others. After 2 years of "study", it seems some highways are done, though crudely. All residential & semi residential areas are completely ignored. Very lethargic and lackadaisical. more
