Govt must do its bit in enforcing environment laws

corporates like coka cola Pepsi india Nestle india & others are doing zero or nothing to manage their plastic waste in Chardham yatra in Uttarakhand. This when we have legally mandated EPR clause in place.

Why is the environment ministry and tourism ministry failing.
What about state environment anf tourism departments

Can we please launch a movement on localcircles so in heritage locations the waste is managef by the companies.

Hint: incentivise users in these locations to take the empty package back to the retailer and get something (fruit of your choice) more

Indian peoples are most in-disciplined peoples. may be educated or uneducated. The Rlys. AC Comportment , Airplanes Economy Class are the best examples. No body should blame. They can be make straight only by making hard punishment laws. more
I entirely agree with most of the posts in reply but particularly one by Tiru Narayan (4350 SHIRLENE CT). It is far more important to provide good quality and perhaps cooled to some extent drinking water reducing / eliminating need for artificial drinks like Coco cola/ Pepsi etc. Educating future generations in healthy practices, though slow, is perhaps a lasting solution to most of environment ills we are facing today and may continue if we neglect right education of Genxt. I agree with Sri. C.S. Narayanan's comment. More than the government, the people must do their part, including reducing demand for products that have such environmentally harmful packaging. We all know that if no Demand, no Supply. All the best. more
Why look at others .The public should dk their part. It is the public who create this The government creates laws and does not enforce all the time. Crime and corruption go hand in hand. Unless the public awareness is raised no law can stop this. We installed a public coin toilet in our neighborhood about 3 years ago amid much fan fare by local politicians with good intentions. It was misused by the public. It has been shut for the past 2 years. Hiw can swacch Bharat happen. The government publishes numbers about the toilets they built. But many of them are closed due to no supply of water or maintenance. Whether you like it or nit the public has poor hygienic habits. more
Plastic waste for(LDPE,HDPE) food items is @15/kg.s and others low grade plastic rate is different certainly lower. This is what this so called big co rates printing(coca cola, Pespi) on their packing material and forget it. Their is no rate fixed for food grade aluminum tins. This is done for taking carbon credit and law of the land restrictions.Rest is history. This is same like blind man is grinding atta with hand stone grinder and a dog is eating the floor. more
