Government announcement of 10 lakh jobs makes limited sense

The announcement made by the Prime Minister of India about 10 lakh jobs in next 18 months is broken down as follows
Railways - 2.3 lakhs
Defence - 2.5 lakhs
Home ministry - 1.3 lakhs
Postal dept - 90,000
Revenue dept - 74,000

What is the point of adding more people in already such heavy loss making enterprises like railways and postal.

This is not real employment creation but employment creation for elections??

Members break your silence please. Whatever happened to maximum governance minimum government?

Air India was in losses due to it's employees, retired employees & families used to get flight tickets on nominal payments and many more loss making decisions.Railway employees &families will get passes, the same passes are used repeatedly without getting it signed & disposed. Railway Hospitals a big loss making net work. Railway is in heavy losses, due to which there is no maintanence of coaches. God only has to save from accidents.Postal department also is not free from frauds. The practical incidents can be quoted. Service rules are framed by British to suit their needs. The same service rules are making Bureaucracy a white elephant, fraudulent, lethargic. ( Employees are aware the service rules make them a Rayal Force) Even after getting feedbacks on functioning of employees at grassroots level the government is not inclined to change the AGE OLD SERVICE RULES. PEOPLE WANT'S COMMITTED SERVICE WITHOUT CORRUPTION FROM EMPLOYEES.IS IT POSSIBLE WITHOUT RADICAL CHANGES. more
Man power audit by 3rd party (private agency) is required in every PSB, PSU, Defence PSU,
and other Govt. departments including security forces. There is possibility that about 40%man power will be found unfit, unwanted, surplus.
There are many employees from peon to Secretary who has no work to do. Still they
are clinging to jobs and getting promotions, and
pensions, DA, medical reimbursement after
retirement. In Punjab's PWD (mech Wing)
was not having any work for 10 years but huge
man power got salaries, perks and pensions.
This is the reason that every Indian has got LUST for Govt. job. People are ready to give Rs.20.00 lac for a constable's job and so on for
higher posts. The burden of pension is much more than salary in every Govt. department. more
Is it really very new? Such announcements come before election campaign. One may recall it such agendas were in PM's deliberations. Why no leader talks about railways pending recruitments and applicants had been waiting for long and Govt. is sitting on a good amount of application fee. Besides, these employments are for short term only no regular employment. So nothing to feel cheer up. more
These posts were pending for a long time to be filled. Posts were not filled to cut govt expenses, but may be, PM feels these cannot be kept pending anymore more
Hello, If you get Govt. job tomorrow then you will not take objection on every point. more
There is no authentic evidence to substantiate the content of the resource. In any case, the requirement of manpower is assessed by the respective departments with apparently scientific methods and economic viability is one of them. In view of total lack of information, none can speak in favour of the resource. more
