Good news on covid test prices

Maharashtra Governmenthas capped maximum price for COVID19 tests (RT-PCR) at Rs 2200, the earlier price was 4400. Maximum price for the test by collecting samples from home capped at Rs 2800.

You all should also approac state govts and demand this more

It may be a good idea for some member to please throw light upon what tests are included in the price to be charged in Maharashtra. more
How the cost of test has been fixed for Rs.2,200/-? I think it should be fixed taking the cost of material in to account. In all tests for Covid 19, cost of material may be given by the Govt. more
Absolutely. With increases in testing labs are easily able to get profit even on 2200/-. Why can't all labs across India on their own cap their max to 2200/- ? ICMR had initially capped the maximum at 4500/-. Labs just kept their prices at the max wanting to earn maximum profit. Time for them to do their bit for humanity and proactively agree to reducing prices to 2200/-. more
Good news on covid test prices it shud be done free like most nations have done or heavily subsidised and cost very nominal considering its a declared national disaster and intl Pandemic. Even bangladesh made testing and treatment free for rich or poor, and believed in the policy that all covid patients are Govt.Patients and responsibility. So much for our "Sab ka saath",in our country, where ultimately everything has been reduced to Optics and slogans. Can give $ 10/ million- without batting an eyelid to SSARC fund, 20,000 cr for central vista face lift that's totally unnecessary, but nothing for your citizens in this hour of crisis? I hope people will remember this when the time comes. more
