FSSAI to circle

There is lot of issues with shelf life management and expired food products being sold. I have even found them in big grocery stores including big bazaar and starbucks coffee. This is big cities, villages may be different story. biscuits wafers, chips that are expired are sold, recently experienced in agra. State inspectors dont bother to go into details and there is no communication of junta with them.

Can the FSSAI be also invited to this esteemed circle. I am happy to write to them but not sure if it will go anywhere but if local circles or ministry writes, it may get some movement. more

Sadly, most of the big malls and bazaars do not have the time to take stock of thing in their shelves. We the public should point out to them about expired stuff in their shelves and they do remove it. I had 2 occassions in which I was shopping in Big Bazaar on MG road wherein I pointed out to the staff that they had some expired material in the shelves which to my surprise they immediately removed it and stacked fresh material in the same shelf. India is changing though slowly so we all have to take an active part in it. If we sit back and complain then who is going to provide the said relief?? more
The best way is to have an estimate of our requirements in every field in advance and produce to that extent. That will be applicable in all products. If we produce excess Wheat say 3 times of our consumption requirments the additional wheats produced will be rottening in the godowns. Even medicines that are produced in millions of tablets/capsules forms are again recycled in the process once the expiry dates are over. To avoid all these it is better to control the production process that are linked to the end user requirements. We should value the resources and must introduce control mechanism to produce products effectively. Other wise thngs will remain in papers. Thanks more
Yes, not grievance but they can know a lot more if they are here. more
Most worst are in Railway and bus stations. The passengers are in a hurry , hence what ever shop owner offers , they accept. The MRP, date of expiry is not seen by most of the people. The shop owners also know that they are flying passengers. If any one gets any thing rotten, they will not return . Ok, let some good thing happen. more
it is a great idea. i support it more
