Front of package labeling

Last year there was some discussion on discouraging consumption of junk foods in this circle by having HFSS (high in fat sugar salt foods) tax but seems FSSAI has done little. Earlier this week I was talking to a public health expert in family and she said that suh foods should have front of package labeling that “high salt content” or 400kilo calories like that so people when buying can see this info. Obviously this has direct impact on sales of junk by nestle, pepsi, mcdonalds, dominos, britannia, haldiram, ITC, cadburys, parle and many others so they dont let it happen.

What is the take and position of fssai on this matter. Will they take action on this or they dont want to ruffle the feathers???

Good suggestion .We found that many Indian snacks as Bhujia ,Kurkure ,and other snacks are very spicy and hot and some one inmy family a kid developed gastric gastritis and ulcer like condition to be rushed to a Gastro Enterologist. This hazard exists in some Indian snacks.Fssai should ban after studying, analysing the product.
