Freedom of Speech - Your inputs

The Supreme Court today has scrapped a controversial law - the Section 66 A of the Information and Technology Act - which allowed arrests over objectionable content online.

Per the petitioners, this will prevent misuse as a few times in the past genuine comments criticising a person, and caricatures had become an excuse for harassment/arrests.

We would like to seek your comments and views on the same and as a community let us develop what should be permissible/not permissible so the common man is empowered to air grievances/views/criticism without fear and at the same time not defame individuals/organizations without basis.

We look forward to your inputs!

SELFISH THIRST AND SELFISH HUNGER FOR EASY MONEY , EASY POWER , MOB BACKING , MIS-LEAD RESULTS THOUGH SUPPORTING THOSE CREATERS AT THE COST AND HEAVY LOSSES ON THOSE VICTIMS BEING INDIVIDUALS , ASSOCIATIONS , SOCIETY , POLITICAL PARTY , RELIGION AND SO , AS HAS BEEN EVIDENT IN NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS BUT STILL NO POLICING . ALLWAYS THE CREATORS ARE SO HAPPY AND SUPPORTED AND THE VICTIMS SO FURTHER VICTIMISED WITH COST OF REPORTS , SUITS , TIME AND BUSINBESS LOSSES. EVEN A SERIOUS THREAT TO EVEN A DISTRICT COLLECTOR , HAD TAKEN FOUR YEARS FOR POLICE TO STEP FOR THE FIRST TIME ACTION . DEMOCRACY SHALL NOT BE SO CORNERED ONLY FOR SUCH CREATORS. more
Freedom should be equivalent as print media not more than this. So any one could not do miss use. more
IN ALL AND ANY OF THE EVENTS AND ISSUES WHERE " EQUALITY , EQUAL OPPORTUNITY , EQUAL RIGHT , EQUAL LIBERTY , EQUAL FREEDOM OF SPEECH OR ANY ; WITHOUT IMPLEMENTATION EQUALLY AMONG THE PEOPLE “ ; THE APPLICATION OF FUNDAMENTAL REIGHTS , LIBERTIES , INCLUDING SPEECH , EXPRESSION EVEN THROUGH FACEUAL EXPRESSEIONS ;;;; IS UN-DEMOCRATIC , ILLEGAL , AND EVEN OFFENSIVE IN ANY RULE WHETHER PRSIDENTIAL , AUTOCRATIC AND THE PRINCE / PRINCES FORM OF RULE AND THUS ESPECIALLY IN ANY DEMOCRACY . THIS IS NOT A NEW SYSTEM OR PRACTICE OF ANY RULE . AND SO, EQUALITY IN ALL ISSUES INCLUDING BEFORE LAW IS INEVITABLE FOR IMPLEMENTATION . more
Freedom is good. But to what level? It is very important. Yes, the freedom must be fundamental right provided following conditions are satisfied 1. The comment or news does not affect our Nation in any manner 2. Any such comment must be have demonstrated and measurable evidence, not assumption 3. If not sure about the authenticity of a news/issue better do not spread false news 4 For each issue we have to do weightage with both number of people affected and the amount of money lost more
Freedom of speech - At whose cost? Is Insulting language, Abuses, Filthy language, Negative propaganda without any truth, Defaming someone who is innocent, Vulgarity, Publishing against someone as a paid news, are few examples which can not be included as freedom of speech. Whistle blowing, informing police/CBI about crime, taking oath, speaking against anti-nationals , corrupt politicians and public servants are good examples of freedom of speech that needs to be protected. If an innocent gets punished for wrong affidavit is not freedom of speech. If a criminal goes Scot free because witnesses remained silent is a murder of freedom of speech. more
