Free speech in universities- rights of students?
The left has found a very fertile ground to join anti national students and separatists in the vast universities of India specially funded by central government .
Students of higher learning are being disturbed by students with political leanings constantly and after the lull after UOH,DU,JNU episodes the new breed of political students have restarted this open expression of dissatisfaction on national matters .
The ban on student unions with political affiliations is long overdue. The serious students who come to the temples of wisdom i.e. Universities are constantly distracted from their goals of acquiring higher knowledge by these groups .
All Indians must abide by laws of the land including student community and respect for the government in Power.
If some one thinks that he has a opposite view and want to express it in any manner should quit the institutions and join full time politicalised groups.
But staying with in campus , having fellowships and boarding and lodging at the expense of tax payer has no right to disturb the atmosphere of universities.Democracy does not permit a benificary of public money to behave as it pleases them.
The UGC , GOI must pass a law ,ban the unions ,protect the true student and put a stop to this mockery of freedom of expression. The authorities must take undertaking before admission that they will abide by law and are prepared for expulsion in case of violation.
All anti nationals ,traitors ,seditionists must be identified and expelled by law and pre vented from seeking admission else where in India .Even they must be prevented from seeking Passports .
This is a last chance for the GOI to act.
Shouting India tere tukde hoge inshallah is not expressing their opposite views it is sedation.

I think your views are too lol sided. Respect for Government of the day does not mean that one should not point out its mistake. However, I firmly believe that politics and politicians should be kept away from Universities. Further, the Election Commission should ban all political parties from having student wings. But that does not mean that we should stop students from expressing their opinions in debates and seminars. Nobody having contrary views should be harassed. When we were students we did debate national issues without any harassment.

National integrity AND Fundamental Duties THAT WERE FORGOTTEN had to be Mandated in 1977 on severe protests of PATRIOTS.
Parliament realized these Fundamental issues due to the Torturing issues of Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, PAK hidden supports for such.
THESE 2 ISSUES ARE MUST FOR CARRYING NATIONAL SECURITY AND INTEGRITY.

Its difficult to ban Students' Union in Colleges and Universities. However, all the students should get subsidised facilities only for a particular stipulated period beyond which, if they fail to complete their course, they should stop getting stipend, asked to vacate hostels and given no free education. As I know, Kanaiah Kumar has been pursuing his "studies" for past more than 5 years in DU with all highly subsidised facilities.

Politics in University is only as per the syllabus of university and not as per agenda of a particular party. Involvement of students is only to learn the constitution, procedures of election, conduct in parliament and ethics of politics and not to become tools of vagabounds with antinational intentions. Any university permitting students to participate in public activities other than welfare/disasters management should amount to rustication of concerned staff
