Food Safety...

Food: Random checking of water quality and food quality should be mandatory. Each outlet (Fixed location or Trailer /vehicle mounted/cycle mounted should be inspected atleast twice a year. Standardise weights (Like min weight of Idli, vada etc. ) This is being Practiced in Singapore
Fruits: Rampant use of Chemical Ripening process is very harmful. Please bring (Establish) Standard ripening centres (like FDA approved) with equipment and use BS or IS marking and brand them as "BS certified in collaboration with pvt investors.

in India, people just want quantity, not taste, not health, no huygine, i ask the vendor , do you use fresh oil for making samosa, they reply, we are not so rich to use fresh oil, they reply casually to the customer that, you need to manage with your stomach for one day, if you eat outside more
Totally agree with the above. At the same time see the no .of food inspectors in the dept and the area they have to inspect . The officer should be given powers to fine the owner of establishments more
totally agree with your thoughts..Hope govt will take strict action on non hygiene food and come up with standard licensing for all. Those who fail to adhere should get their license cancelled. more
we should have stringent and immediate punishment without mercy for those who play with human lives more
sir the issue is not lack of knowledge, but lack of trust, faith and credibility in the competency and seriousness of purpose of the regulatory agencies. Everyone knows fruits and several consumables even from large corporates are rampantly adulterated, treated with harmful chemicals for taste, appearance, shelf life extension, to get people addicted, give a good feeling and so on to push sales on unsuspecting consumers. People think a brand name can make up for all shortcomings, but brands use their brand for mischief. Most important, the standards in our country are actually made by the manufacturers for their convenience and the standards body only certifies it for a price. In fact they use animal standards in other countries as a reference for human consumption and they tinker with that too with play of words to overcome legal issues. I am saying anything that others dont know! So who do you trust? If individual citizens rake up this issue they are either intimidated, not taken seriously or mocked at to demoralise the person, we have such an incompetent, corrupt bureaucracy that we do not know who they are working for : for the consumer or the businesses ,, we have to set right the whole system, tinkering with the fringes wont get you anywhere more
