Flight booking middlemen
Just want to alert everyone to not make your flight booking through online sites and apps of travel aggregators when there is even a slightest possibility of cancellation and instead book with airline directly. Recently a friend cancelled their reservation with indigo via intermiles. For a refund made by airline for 10,600 this middleman travel site deducted 7000 and only refunded some 2400 rupees with other charges as processing fee etc etc.

All airlines and agents also do not refund the various taxes like gst, airport tax, cute fees etc. Do they deposit these taxes in the treasury and other places ? How can they deposit these taxes as the tax is to be deposited only when there has been a sale ? A cancelled ticket means there is no sale.

I have had bitter experiences with Makemytrip. I have stopped booking through them and straight go to the airlines.

Whenever possible book direct. If you can not book yourself ask someone to help you. I help seniors booking train tickets, movies, air etc. Sometimes I use my card so that OTP can be received by me. They pay cash to me.

It depends entirely on which ROTTEN organisation was asked to book an airline ticket.
