Environmental Clearances Not Required

Attached please find the new recategorisation of industries. A set of additional white industries will no longer require environmental clearances. more

What about the industry in white category but having construction more than 20K sqm..will it be considered under Orange category? And no mention on category for research type of operation. more

Kindly read the text of the attachment and try to interpret for yourself. I did not find word "manufacturing". Take for example ALUMINUM- its manufacturing, which is conversion from Bauxite to aluminum is not environmentally friendly, but aluminum extrusion, etc, subsequent steps of conversion are environmentally firefly. This argument is sufficient for inspectors to harass, enter into court cases, lead to corruption, delays etc. Read Electric lamp(bulb) and CFL Manufacturing by assembly only is mentioned , but not LED or any other lamp etc under white category. Thermometer (hope it means mercury thermometer) at 81 is in orange category, But there are mercury blood pressure measuring instrument (not listed). Now most thermometers for measuring body temperatures are electronic. But Government employees use hair splitting arguments. So this is how corruption & delays happen, court cases are filed. Also do mention that White category industries can be in populated areas and red category industries must have treatment plants and not let out effluent to environment etc. more
