Encroachment of 25 acres land by central gov servant
This post is the eye opener for the gov who is making the land bill by which farmers & land owners are going to be effected.Mr. Prahalad Naithani,a resident of village Sankron Chauras, P.O. Kilkileshwar, Block Kirtinagar,Tahsil Devprayag,Dist.Tehri Garhwal,Uttrakhand,is the employee of Hemwanti Nandan Bahunguna University.Which is the central university, and the said person has got employment in the same university at the age of 46 on the ground of land acquisition by the said university.
That person is the farmer by the title and also employed.
From last three years this person has become the threat for the area when he has encroached the Gov Land measuring 25 acres costing around 25 crores, and start menacing with the locals. The poor gram panchayats have gone to the SDM(Local)court but they are not going at the time of hearing.Since the state gov is sleeping.
I am requesting the central government for the intervention (since the poor gram panchayats do not understand who has the ownership of gov land) to take the action earliest for saving the land of India, and also sue (take legal action against) Mr.Pralahad Naithani(Central Gov servant),Gram Panchayat Officer, and other concerned officer who have the responsibility for protecting the land.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST: It is now well known, that the current debate on land acquisition ordinance is the result of the pressure by the investors for making cheap land available for industry. In spite of the emphatic announcements being made by the PM and speeches by finance minster in particular it is amply evident that the ordinance is relaxing its red tape in order to spread the red carpet for the industry to acquire any private land including farm land at will and ad. lib.. The ‘conflict of interest’ in LA ordinance is in no way different from those discussed by Supreme Court in match fixing scam and raised by media on the hazards of tobacco. A very valid and thoughtful advice given by Padma Bhushan Dr.M.S.Swaminathan that “agricultural dark sots be converted into industrial hot spots” is being largely sidelined.

India has little more than 300 Million hectares (mh) of land (reporting), though the geographical area is 329 mh. Of this, roughly 46.8% is used for cropping. Only 37.4% of the cropped land is irrigated, the rest being rain fed ie. dependant on weather. 86.62% of cropped area is being used consistently for food grain production alone. 40% of the food grain cultivating areas is irrigated. Availability of land is influenced by per capita land holding, its distribution, geophysical conditions, agro-climate, land use and usability. Unlike the west grasslands for animal rearing is limited in India ie. 11.3 mh. Less than 4% of cultivable land is used for fodder. In India the total production of maze, a major component of compounded animal feed, is less than 9 million Tons (MT). Maze being a food grain cannot be diverted as animal feed. The biome for maze is limited in India.[Permanent pasture in Brazil is 18.6 mh, S. Africa - 81.3 mh, U.K. - 11.0 mh, U.S.A - 239.0 mh and China - 400.0 mh]. Conversely, animal husbandry in India is essentially an endeavor of small holders and landless who rear animals essentially on crop residues (CR) and common property resources (CPR). Wetland: India signed Agreement to conserve wetland in 1975 as resolved at Ramsar convention in1971 (in Iran). It brought out the importance and service value of wetland. But between 1991 and 2001, India lost 38% of wetlands due to lack of appreciation. Service value of our wetland [3,28,402 hectares worth providing Rs.5,60,000 cr/ year] is more than forest ecosystem.
