Establish charging stations and infrastructure fo r the maintenance .Convert existing good cars to EV .Then introduce new small cars with low prices .It will quickly catch up. more
Our nation receives copious amount of solar energy almost all over the year. Why don't we consider integrating solar panels on vehicle roof top for charging the EVs. It will reduce the charging station requirement well within manageable limits. It may also reduce the battery capacity requirements considerably, bringing the cost and the weight down. And for many, who use the vehicle occasionally, no additional charging will be required. Overall cost will reduce due to the economics of scale. more
In todays world the driving force is convenience and economics. Make Electric vehicles available with charging facility all over the country at an economic price compared with IC engine vehicles and it will work. Actions expected: 1. Uninterrupted stable and quality power availability all over India - Urban, as well as rural areas. 2. Subsidise Electric vehicles substantially partly as incentive to start manufacture of electric vehicles and partly to customers so that more companies start/adopt/change over to make E. Wh. 3. Make it mandatory for every Petrol Pump to have at least 10 E. Wh. charging points and space for vehicles - specially outside city limits. 4. Develop fast charging system so that a vehicle can be fully charged in 30 minutes or less. RYK. more
What does the government has to do with all this? If private companies are selling the cars they should put up the charging stations. Stop putting burden on government, they need to do basic things before moving on to this pie in the sky idea. People need electricity and we are thinking of this stupid idea?? Unless you live in a large city this will never ever work. This does not work in USA where you think they have it all. Use the time and the money wisely. This will only benefit car sellers and tax payers will end up subsidizing. Think ... people think. more
