Eateries and Open Food

Many eateries in India (having fSSAI certificate) keep food overnight in open and then reuse it next day.

Most of these restaurants have cockroaches, some even lizards and rats. I am not even worried about the flies.

No wonder many of us end up falling sick after eating out.

Isnt it a Govts responsibility to ensure only restaurants serving safe food are allowed to continue. more

That means there is no supervision by FSSAI after issuance of the licence. Only God can help. more

As per our PM, Street food vendors are employed by govt with mudra loan. more
Indeed, a lot needs to be done for organised sale of eatables in the open.... Some decades ago, one was thankful for a street vendor to come by and sell chaat and golgappas and etc. at the house doors. Bare hands were use without any objections. But today things have changed. There's a lot of pollutants/viruses surrounding us. Hence, appropriate precaution becomes mandatory. Important is that we as public continue our efforts to bring this awareness to the authorities. more
My observation is that we are highly tolerant. If the quality of food item is not good, we must return and ask for fresh..... Be it a restaurant, Dhaba, Big Hotel, Railways, IRCTC, ..... we have to follow the same rule..... If you find cockroaches we must make complaints verbally as well as in writing..... more
It is high time that no street vendors should be allowed in any part to sell not only food but may be all items. All roads and footpaths should be free from any such activities. It will help cities like Mumbai from over congestion. It will bring some order and cleanliness. more
