Dust pollution
Road side dust, burning of crop residues and use of old vehicles are contributing to air pollution. Measures to remove dust by mechanical cleaning of all roads and grass being planted on flanks and central verge must be enforced on war footing. more

I have seen a dust removing vehicle on the roads in Noida but it is the same machine used in various places. there is a need to put more in service to reduce the dust pollution more

No authority or NGO is willing to address the REAL sources of pollution, thats why the problem is not getting resolved. * Does the age of a vehicle affect its emission or the condition of its engine ? A new vehicle with badly tuned engine will emit smoke and an old vehicle with well tuned engine will emit no smoke. So how does the age affect pollution ? Also, if someone replaces the old engine with a new engine in a 15 year old diesel vehicle will it continue to pollute ??? Banning of ten year old vehicles will give precisely ZERO improvement in pollution. * Vehicles with better mileage will obviously use lesser fuel and cause lesser emissions. * How to reduce fuel consumption - make roads free of potholes and smoother with better riding quality so that reasonable speeds can be maintained. Smoother roads cause less raising of dust compared to broken and potholed roads - this is commonsense. Improvement of roads will cause lesser burning of cng, petrol and diesel. * Bring back gobar gas plants in villages- these were the ideal solution for disposal of animal dung and almost free cooking gas. Piped gas and subsidised gas cylinders will not work due to high recurring/replacement cost. Who will buy a cylinder of Rs 500 when free gobar is available? This is a very poorly thought out scheme. * Brick kiln smoke- there is a need to make bricks without burning of coal or any other fuel. Bricks will continue to be used in our country till eternity so we need to find some better means - something like a chemical adhesive to knead and mould the bricks, thus avoiding burning altogether. more
