Doing Business Issue - Transgender Extortion
I am in Residents of Noida circle and one of the issues being discussed here is extortion of businesses/companies by transgenders and businesses are seeking assistance from district magistrate and police as they have transgenders at their doors every day asking for 21,000. This is twice a year phenomenon, i think holi and diwali.
It is a problem for business today and will continue to be. The police has not been able to address it and even DM hasnt been able to stop the extortion.
Question is - can we in India tackle this menace in a more organized way. Giving 500/1000 twice a year is ok for most but paying 42000 a year as extortion money is difficult.
Is Govt doing some kind of training programs for them. Why cant they work in factories, skilled under skill india. Why cant they be car mechanics. Are they just lazy fellows or has no one approached them to get skilled, learn something and make a living.
May be it needs a national discussion and then some policies and steps.
A true Government, a representative of Citizens, irrespective of it is run by any party, an end must be brought to such practices at what ever cost and effort. This is a shame for all those Police Officers and Bureaucrats and the Law implementing authorities who take OATH to stand by the Constitution and take salary day after day and then show a back to the justice, decency and the LAW at large. A serious view should be taken of this at the highest level by the HOME MINISTER and The PRIME MINISTER and The Chief Ministers. Why they should not meet together and discuss and support each other with follow up actions at regular intervals. Thank you. On Sun, Feb 5, 2017 at 2:50 AM, Aditya Goyal wrote: >

North India is having his problem because they have a custom to honor them on many occasions. It is very difficult to remove it. People have been pampering them so it is difficult.

Its a reality and harassment of all commuters across Delhi roads. The problem of NOIDA is a bit bigger, because of transgender Government in the State of UP.It goes without saying that the situation is equally worst across India. The people, who happens to depend on the socially recognised hefty alms have become extortionists. Now, ritual for some has turned into extortion for many in broader day lights. The menace has to be stopped. It is also true that a lot of criminals also find their livelihood in the cover of transgenders.More so, now as transgenders are recognised as third gender by the Central Government, many things for the sustained livelihood and social recgnition in usual course be arranged primarily by and with the help of Central and State Governments and also by and with the help of social help groups, religious groups as well as caste and sub-caste organisations in the field of education, skill imparting, permanent settlement, legacy and succession, dispute resolution etc.

There should be a determined bid to wipe out organised beggary. Only this will address this vexatious issue and also other crimes like kidnapping and mutilating children to use as beggars or drugging babies to hire out to women begging at junctions etc. from vehicles. People should not yield to such extortion and must stand firm. Only then can society develop free of such menaces. L.Kalavathi Retd. Bank Official Chennai, Tamilnadu, India 6th Feb 2017
