Customer Service Orientation for Government Offices - Inputs on Issues
Dear Friends:
Thank you everyone for your invaluable contributions in this circle.
While we are still working on the subject of Boosting Jobs and Economic Growth Solutions, we are starting a parallel discussion on one of the immediate priorities for Government identified by you.
Please give your inputs on all the challenges faced in dealing with Government personnel and offices like Police, Municipality, Property Registration, RTO, Courts, Railways, etc. We have a separate discussion on Corruption that was concluded a few weeks ago (whitepaper due to be published soon).
The focus here is to list what and how citizens face harassment at Government offices, followed by identification of root causes (separate post) and then identify solutions (separate post) that we can take to the Modi Government to implement.
Our mission has to be such that 5 years from now when we enter a Government Office in the country, we hear - "How can we serve you?" and not "Why are you here?"
We have faced these challenges for long enough, let us list them now, review them collectively so we all understand and then help our Government work it.

1. Citizen Awareness or participation also equally required . Denomination of Rs.100 and below that is with public as on 8th Evening is not at all coming into Banks resulting untodo chaos . 2. Secondly , the 100 notes are being exchanged with the Black Money Holders at discount since 9th instant and still this process is going on . 3. Yesterday , 24 lakhs in A.P. caught in a Car taking 500 & 1000 notes to exchange in another Town VJA - ELURU . 4. TV News on 12th is that those in counters demanding 100s only against their multiple 500 & 1000 and even Staged Dharna .

i would propose that all the procedures of all kinds of activities at all offices should be properly detailed on their respective websites. so when people want to approach any of these offices , they are well versed with the procedures, they should know who is responsible for your work. the result will be:1) will eliminate the need for agents, 2)will clearly know the time frame before approaching any office, 3) can demand expediation the work if delayed, 4) will be able to directly communicate to officers concerned. the officers also will be benefited if they are directly in contact with the party concern. agent format makes a clear possibility for extra monetary benefit.
