Crashing gst collections

Extremely worrying signals on Govt revenues. It is likely that there will be a drop of >85% post lockdown in GST collections. April collection May be less than 30% of plan and huge worries for May.

The lockdown polls and final Move may want to keep this in mind... more

One major purpose/use of the Local Circles is for members to voice their concerns openly. And, it's a proven consolation that the GOI heeds to LC opinions. Have faith, trusting patience, dears. It's not always easy for a government to pacify every individual. History teaches us that wars have been won at the cost of some foot soldiers. more
Super Senior citizens should be spared from any deductions in their income/pension during this period. more
Seems now the government understood this problem, not that it doesnt know. The same was the argument of Mr. Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM of Andhra Pradesh. Now the central government has eased on the restrictions and asked shops (except market complex, malls) to open where residence areas are there. If it works well on one side the government will get revenue and on the other side people need not go long distances to fetch the daily essentials. Already the government had given permission for the construction workers etc., more
Govt. in Power has started crushing the genuine tax payers i.e. the salaried class and the Sr. Citizens with NO pension. Bank deposit rates have drastically reduced which will NOT effect the business class people. DA will not be paid to the Govt. Employees for certain period and collection of the same will be huge. The same will be paid to the Manufacturers, Business Man etc for their start up and paying meager salaries to the workers of the factories. Factory owners are instructed NOT to deduct the salaries. Land Lords are told NOT to ask for rent from the Tenants. What a Policy...... Manufacturers will increase the cost of the product. Daily wage workers will increase their wages. From where the salaried class or the Sr. Citizen without Pension will get the money for his livelihood. NOBODY IS BOTHERED ABOUT SR. CITIZEN OF INDIA WHICH ARE ALMOST 20 CRORES IN THE COUNTRY. POLITICIANS ONLY NEED VOTES FROM US THAT'S IT. more
Pension for senior citizens has not been withdrawn so don't worry and it's true that after lock down the business class and daily wagers will increase their costs/wages and no doubt as usual only the middle class will suffer but this is not the time to think about this as whatever decision has been taken by the government is for all the classes of people not only for some or particular class. more
Recession is there in all type of activity and hence collection will be low. more
