COVID 19 - APPLAUD TAMIL NADU CHIEF MINISTER

All said and done, whatever may be the past track record, there is no doubt that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has been ably and competently managing the COVID 19 crisis in Tamil Nadu.

With the expertise and knowledge level of the Tamil Nadu ministers being mediocre, Chief Minister appears to be largely taking the guidance from the bureaucrats and medical specialists. This is as it should be.

The ministers are giving problems , as they assemble a crowd around themselves and donate some material or other to poor people, posing for photograph. They are not following social distancing , as is evident from the photographs appearing in media.

The spread of COVID 19 in Tamil Nadu has increased significantly mainly due to those who attended the congregation in Delhi and then returned back to the state. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is handling the situation without giving room for any communal tension in the state.

Whether he has the money or not, Chief Minister is somehow spending lot of money to give freebies to the poor people to buy peace with them and give them hope.

Obviously, Tamil Nadu state government’s finances are in an extremely poor shape and it is not clear how he would manage the situation in the coming months. He has to seek advice of experts and certainly not his ministers and cut the wasteful expenditures in all possible ways. He needs to have political courage to do this.

The opposition parties in Tamil Nadu are criticizing the state government for the sake of criticism and the Chief Minister is handling such criticisms with dignity, by ignoring them for all practical purposes.

I have feeling that too much of propaganda going on like how police works etc but in reality that department is stressed out...For every thing Police...Govt should have allowed some very reputed NGO's to pitch in and ease life for Police, health workers, doctors over all. For canvassing about social distancing NGOs can travel in autos and put a loudspeaker and announce in vulnerablel areas and also help citizens...Also I don't see much of private hospitalls are being used...if every thing done in govt , then govt cant focus on essential services delivery....I can see in news that many places when police stop one person another person escapes. this is not going to work because police is doing every thing. including dance, songs etc.... more
Yes, the handling of the crisis in Tamil Nadu has been very good. The various measures taken by the govt. have been apt and monitoring of the cases are exemplary. Health authorities are doing yeoman service. If this continues we should be able to tide over the crisis with minimum damage. more
too early to judge. I think there is a lot of UNDERREPORTING of new cases all over India OZA On Sun, 19 Apr 2020 at 21:55, N.S. Venkataraman < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more
