Cost of Stent planting in India

But Sir one thing is not understandable. Why the stent and cost of treatment is so expensive in India. My elder brother had three arteries blocked. The cost of three stents and treatment including hospitalization for six days came out to be Rs 6.5 lacs and more so he was asked to deposit Rs 4.5 lacs advance before any treatment could be started. How a common man on the road afford it. I am told the stent costs $300 in USA. Is it possible? more

What is written is correct by my dear colleagues. I was charged Rs. 6.00 Lacs for 3 stents and treatment. All hospitals in India including doctors are making huge money without following athics. In other business, we have cost audits etc. from GoI but nothing done at hospitals at least. We donot know, when GoI will wakeup. more
