Corruption in Public Works Department
Engineers,, Inspectors and the Accounts Dept. staff who issue cheques in payment for work carried out may be accepting bribe in keeping with the demands made by them and as per the custom and practice. They acquire Assets and/or indulge in spending on certain occasions like Weddings, both beyond legal and publicly known sources of income. Anti-corruption Bureaus should keep names, Addresses as well as other relevant details of the kith and kin of such potential bribe-takers. ACBs should be empowered to access Records of Titles in Sub-Registrar Offices and conduct investigations as to which of the Titles acquired represent funds collected as bribes, whether the properties are in the names of such bribe-takers or benami in the names of their kith and kin. Similarly, ACB should be authorised to use Apps by use of which Videos of their lavish spending may be transmitted directly to the Computer in ACBs. These steps may yield evidence for prosecuting bribe-takers

Every one is after minting illegal money. It may be government officers, traders, professionals or politicians, every one is multiplying their assets in any way. The sources are immaterial. The assets of the politicians irrespective of the parties they belong to are multiplying their assets every year but there is no one to ask them. Neither the government nor any of its agencies who are empowered to enquire into never bothers. It is only the headache of the common man like us to always to make it a hot cake to discuss for nothing. Corruptions are now deep rooted in Indian soil and we have learnt to live with it. It is useless to make it an issue of discussion every now and then. Moreover, as I infer, we are not fully honest & impartial while defining an act as corruption or a person as corrupt. In doing so we utterly fail to assess ourselves and our acts. As long as this trend continues, corruptions will live along with us. We always talk about and curse the bribe takers but what about the bribe givers who want everything in their favour on the strength of money powers? First let us collectively decide not to bribe any one under any circumstances and then demand for punishment of the bribe takers. Bribe givers & the takers, both are equally guilty and should be awarded with equal amount of punishment.

Instead of telling what others should do, which is a typical Indian habit, , please start doing it yourself! Report specific cases of corruption to the CBI (in respect of corrupt central govt. officials) and the ACB (in respect of corrupt state officials) who take bribe. I got one doctor arrested through the ACB for demanding bribe. He spent 6 months in jail. I also sent one CMD to hell! He die of heart attack when the CBI found him to have engineered a Rs 73 crore scam. My slogan is ,"Each one, catch one!" You see, if this simple slogan is implemented by every Indian citizen, the country will be rid of all scamsters in no time.But , unfortunately, everyone becomes complacent, and wants others to fire the bullet! This attitude must change.

Reporting to the C.P. is useless. You must take up the cases in an appropriate court of law and see that the police also are punished for dereliction of duty. Try it once! It is no doubt tiring, but we have no alternative. We cannot take up arms against the establishment like the Maoists and Naxalites. The path of law is meant for people like us who have a penchant for reforming the society.

Corruption in Public Works Department or more particularly by the Engineering Staff is open and on understanding basis. The contractors keep the margin and utilise them for the benefit of his boss when they visit places of interest, either inside India or foreign trips. In case of marriages, purchase of land or flat or admission of children in educational institutions - the contractors bears the cost.

sir, in my view every body is involved some how or other because income from salary is say 50 paise and expenditure is 100 paise. so how to mange it is all the game.Can any body speak truth that he has never given or taken in any means.It refers to filmy song" pehla patthar woh mare jisne paap na kiya ho".So nothing to discuss until we improve ourselves.

I fully agree. Even two former Directors of WORLD CLASS ANTI CORRUPTION AGENCY CBI namely AP Singh And Ranjit Sinha were found involved in highly corrupt activities, No need to discuss on this topic anymore. Thanx.

You are talking of curruption in government offices. Just see what is happening with BJP, Congress, JD(S) in Karnataka. Every party, whose MLAs were elected by those people, are trying to buy numbers to come to power by achieving Magic number to win vote of confidence. When such big battle is going on between the Law makers(self declared off late) to come to power with money power, it just does not look nice to talk about taking action on government employees. Ultimately these are the people to twist the Law and rules before the public to fill the coffers of these Law makers for next elections.
