I greatly appreciate this opportunity to submit Root Causes of Issues identified earlier. The following are culled from a post by one Mr. Suresh Kumar who, in his zeal, did not segregate issues from root causes. 1) There is no transparency in the working of the Police 2) Police is slow in inducting technology in maintenance of records and crime control 3) Most of the constables/head constables/Inspectors are not physically fit; hence, retirement age must be reduced to 45 or 20 years pensionable service. Medically fit / unblemished personnel only be given higher ranks. 4) Policemen don’t know all rules, policies and the law themselves, leading to poor implementation 5) Ratio of policemen vs public is low 6) Working conditions of police department, especially lower in the ranks, is pathetic 7) There is no career path of a policeman in lower ranks. So no motivation to work hard and rise up like private sector or even public sector Best regards, Gaurav Sobti

Govt agencies from Minister to officers staffs thrive on corruption. Laws are made in such a way that there is enough loop hole for corruption. Even it is difficult for judges to comprehend the laws. It takes years to give a judgement. Why point out only police. They basically hold the hot side of the rod. Why not help one self with money when opportunity exists. Very few will. Need is to change the laws and constitution. Best regards,
