Corruption in police department!
My friend due to leave for the USA got her passport renewed and was advised Police verification..police Inspector came home and said he cannot give clearance as she has not stayed continuously for one full year as she goes to isit her daughter every year. She was forced to pay 500 Rs bribe which did a wonder . The same evening she got a message ,it is cleared. Why this type of harassment by the police? Can't this be bypassed as passport and neighbours addresses and other formalities are all done.This seed for corruption should be immediately brought to the notice of Mr Modiji. more

such verifications can also be done by OTP and by aadhar no etc .This will dispense with the police involvement. more

The passport application process has flaws. a. One constable asked me to bring BSNL telephone bill of April this year and Aprii last year. a.1. Airtel bill will not do. a.2. One government college professor skipped foreign visits for three years because of this flaw. a.3. Even today my apartment does not have BSNL connectivity for landline, as the cabling has been doe by Airtel. b. There is no improvement in service, in spite of paying hefty charges as Passport fees. c. The passport office does not have AC in the reception area. The reception area is congested, and has long queues d. Tatkal fees is very high. e. Getting an appointment / passport without the help of an agent is impossible, with current / new guidelines, rules, facilities that have been in place for more than 10 years. f. There are no passport offices at all district levels, and rural areas. g. Why give a passport, only if you have 4 ID proofs + police verification? g.1. Aadhar card, PAN card, ESCOM bill, Bank statement. Just Aadhar card must suffice as ID, without police verification. more

I received my Passport after Verification by LIU. Thereafter, I received a Telephonic Call from local Police Station asking me to meet the Caller at the Police Station because he, too, was required to send a Verification Report -- I told him that he was welcome to visit me at my residence because "verification" is to be done by physically visiting Applicant's residence, and not at the Police Station. Moreso, I told him that, being an Ex-Serviceman & War-Veteran, I shall not pay him any Bribe. I also forwarded that Caller's Mobile Number to Shri Narendra Modi -- through the email ID of his trusted Private Secretary. The said Caller never visited my House, and sent an "adverse report" because I had refused to grease his palms. So, I visited the Joint Secretary (Ministry of External Affairs at Tilak Marg, New Delhi) and showed his PS the copies of my emails etc. He advised me to forget about "Modi" and further that IF I followed the "system" (i.e. Bribery) I would have a smooth-sailing -- but if I rely upon courts, my matter will linger on for years. Apparently, this perception about Indian judicial system by the bureaucracy is largely responsible for the current intolerable degree of Corruption in India. The sole reason as to why so many family-people (young & old men, women & children) came out into the streets in "Nirbhaya's case" (Delhi brutal gang-rape case) is that the common citizen today finds no fair, expeditious & financially affordable Grievance Redressal System in India. And all that the common man can do is to choose the same very corrupt individuals, albeit by rotation, every 5 years at General Elections and keep suffering -- by choice (so to say)! more
