Corruption in 498a/ 406 cases/ Divorce
I request Transparency International India or the Local Circle Administrator to work on possibility of corruption involved in 498a/406 cases of family dispute complaints. In my view, the bribe is involved in following stages
1. Registration of FIRs
2. Corruption in Women Police Station
3. Investigation stage
4. Charge sheet
5. Mediation and settlement
6. Bail and FIR quash proceedings
7. Hearings
8. Adjournment
etc. etc.
I recall a statement made by Smt. Kiran Bedi, Ex-IPS in one of debates in TV wherein she said parents name should be included in FIR else the boys will not come for the negotiation. This statement itself indicates working for corrupt practices. Another hard fact which I have seen in my day to day life is that the deserving society is deprived of the benefit of the legislation and the upper class is welcomed by the police department. Since there is a provision to post your views as anonymous member, I feel the Circle may succeed in bringing out a correct report with believeable feedback on the issue. Another point which I feel is that it is not serving the purpose for which it was enacted but only the authorities/ Judiciary/ Advocates and Mahila Police Station becoming richer day by day.

Much severe and serious is the scams wherein the Society at large is the sufferers. No doubt it dose not mean the points raised b you are Not Important.

Sec 498 is a draconian law and is grossly misused these days and false cases are filed to extort money by Girls. Even SC has asked Center to revise the rules but Central Govt under pressure from Woman lobbies did not agree to change the law. So boys will continue to suffer.

Its easy money for a lot. Disgruntled wife, many in the legal fraternity including right from the time of FIR, Bail, CS, to final so called settlement which is always $$$ for the women. Gross misuse. SC has sighted it as LEGAL TERRORISM, so a lot stands clear.
