Money laundering probe into an alleged coal levy scam in the state of Chhattisgarh. ED(Enforcement Directorate) conducted raids. CRPF personnel provided security to the ED teams. The investigation relates to a massive scam involving levy of Rs.25/- extorted for every ton of coal transportation in Chhattisgarh, the mineral rich state of India. The alleged extortion racket ran uninterrupted without a single FIR being lodged.

भ्रस्टाचार हमारे सिस्टम का एक हिस्सा बैन चुका है - कहने को हम पहले नेताओं को ही दोषी मानते है और वे है भी पर आज कोई भी अछूता नहीं है - न्यायपालिका क्या विश्वसनीय रह गया है - जिस कालेजीयम प्रथा में नियुक्ति से सम्बंधित सीडी कांग्रेस के उस बड़े नेता और सुप्रीम कोर्ट के वरिष्ठ वकील अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी के राजनीतिक पतन का कारण बना वह प्रथा अब भी जारी है और NJAC उन्हें मान्य नहीं है क्यूँकि इससे उन्हें अपनी नियुक्ति स्वयं करने का अवसर नहीं प्राप्त होगा - क्यूँ? अभी हमारे CJI ने कहा है कि CLAT सही चरित्र वाले लोगों के चयन की गारंटी नहीं दे सकता तो क्या UPSC या इस तरह की अन्य एजेंसियाँ IAS/PCS इत्यादि की नियुक्ति में सही चरित्र की गारंटी होती नहीं ना जैसा इस उदाहरण से स्पष्ट है फिर तो इन्हें भी अपनी नियुक्ति करने का अधिका दे देना चाहिए? इस तरह ही चाहे वह नौकरशाह हों या मीडिया या यूँ कहिए की प्रजातंत्र के चारों स्तम्भ इस बीमारी से ग्रस्त है और इनके लिए जो सज़ा का क़ानून है वह अपर्याप्त है - भ्रस्टाचार की सजा क़त्ल की सज़ा से बड़ी होनी चाहिए और इसकी शुरुआत ऊपर - वहाँ से जहां से सज़ा दी जाती है -से होनी चाहिए ना की नीचे से क्यूँकि भ्रस्टाचार की गंगोत्री ऊपर से नीचे को चलती है
