Clueless Policies on Vehicle scrappage

Our innova vehicle due to the silly NGT policies and that of road transport dept now needs to be
Scrapped.

The vehicle runs just fine, doesn’t have emmission challenge and barely has a lakh kilometer on it. For a vehicle that is a 12 lakh vehicle plus registration costs i am being forced to scrap it for 50,000.

If this is not cheating of citizens by the Govt than I dont know what is. more

Those Senior Citizens, who have Car, use very less. but it is a must for their Comfort. Hence in their case along with year of Manufacture Govt must also consider, Km run. Normally a commercial Vehicle may run around 50000 Km per year it means in 15 Years it will run 750000 Km. more
Here lies the deal. Irrespective of the age, those vehicles emitting thick black smoke must be immediately penalised. Cameras are installed ubiquitously on our arterial roads, so let them increase the scope to apart from speed, capture the photo of thee car causing beyond the permissible level pollution. Pollution will be cleared sooner than we think, the way all observing a speed measuring camera drive within permissible speeds. Fuel subsidy arbitrage incentivised the vehicle manufacturers to go into producing those type of vehicles that benefit from the fuel subsidy. Diesel cars must be exported to the countries from where the technology originated, since they have been responsible for a product that causes air pollution. more
Let them first penalize and scrap vehicles which emit thick smoke. These are the unfit vehicles, irrespective of number of years or pollution control certificate. more
People are helpless. Vehicles should be allowed to ply if they are able to pass the fitness test, rigorously. more
Mindless implementation of policies driven by agenda bases politicians sitting in our government offices is due to the silence of the citizens. This gives them the leverage to force feed us with norms that are for their own vested interests. This policy needs to be reviewed and logically balanced. We are doing now good by creating so much scarp other than creating another parallel industry. more
