Clueless Karnataka Govt

Karnataka Govt is quite anti business and anti consumer. App based auto services set their minimum fare at 100.

They because of this has banned them which is anti-business.

If they are giving app convenience and operating without Govt funding, they should be able to set fares.

If they do the same thing in your state would u want them banned and instead take local auto who there is no way to find or would u want them to operate? more

Minimum Fare for Auto in Mumbai is Rs 21/23. Rs 100 is too much . more
The Govt can negotiate on the rates and may bring it down but banning the autos are an unethical practice. more
The argument that there is no forced usage is valid when there are adequate alternatives within consumer's reach. Based on earlier comments on this resource, I find such chances are bleak. In the circumstances, the move of Karnataka Government may be in the interest of consumer. The transport rates per km. is fixed by Head of Transport Department duly assisted by District level transport officials to keep local conditions in mind. This is not the function of Political Executive and to throw mud at them is unreasonable. more
App based Autos cannot charge so much. more
The government interference is horrible. They are not able to do anything for improvement of traffic conditions curruption is raging. If aggregators are charging an amount and any individual finds it more, he or she can choose other alternatives. Why government fellows are interfering here ? more
Unfortunately, the public transport system in Bangalore is pathetic. No feeder services to metro, bmtc is unreliable and bit expensive for a public transport, autos fleece at most places, footpaths (where available) are not walkable.
App based autos provided a big relief, but now because of the steep increase in fares, it is not an option for many.
The best option is personal vehicle, if one has one. But then one has to manouvere the traffic congestions and the craters, and the lack of proper public parking space. more
