The various parameters to test water quality include color, odour, pH, total dissolved solids, hardness, alkalinity, elemental compounds such as iron, manganese, sulphate, nitrate, chloride, fluoride, arsenic, chromium, copper, cyanide, lead, mercury, zinc and coliform bacteria.
Also, if you have any information or can find any information from your jal board or municipality about there adherence to these standards, please share.
The objective is to first understand the status quo and then brainstorm solutions to improve quality of drinking water. We will also coordinate efforts on this with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
We look forward to your inputs!

The natural sources of the water like rivers, bores, wels etc are polluted by the factory chemicals. The canals and pipe lines of dams are there but those are reserved either for farmers or drinking waters to the big cities and they are too much costly. The rural and remote places are suffered lot. People are struggling for clean drinking water in those areas. The requirements of drinking water should be fulfilled of those helpless people. Gujarat has done a lot to supply the better drinking water through Narmada pipe lines in kutchh and other remote areas.
