City Wide Dog Menace Circle

I think it is a great idea as it will allow us to share our experiences/practice and learn from each other. Also referring agencies to each other.

As just suggested by Iqbal ji there should also be an action group or local circle within the colony for specific issues.

This could be for learning from others or city level events/meet ups. more

Abhishek Ji, I have spoken to SPCA Noida many times. Their usual reply - "Hum kya karen". They will take only sick animals or the ones to be sterlized, BUT once ok, they will leave them back inside the colony. They want you to first identify the dogs, count them, etc. which is impossible b'cos there are 60-70 dogs inside KV, Noida. But residents of Kendriya Vihar, hide these dogs when SPCA comes to collect dogs for sterlization, and later leave them free to bite ogthers. SPCA is useless. Please go thro' the write-up and you will undersstand better. Our RWA has turned a blind eye towards this problem. They do not care even if residentss, children & Sr. citizens are bitten and become handicapped. more
Mohana I suggest you call up SPCA which is in Noida. They will proactively come and take away these dogs. They have a big kennel where these dogs are taken care of very well. Unfortunately nothing like this near Mayur Vihar where I stay. You must call them. more
Quite a few people from the surrounding villages also come to feed the dogs. It is not only the residents of the colony who are doing this. Yezad Kapadia more
I have given a few suggestions in my write-up on the subject, which was posted sometime back. Each & every RWA in Delhi/NCR should collect contributions from residents, MUST TAKE IT UP WITH MUNICIPAL AUHORIIES to construct homes for stray animals, STRAY ANIMAL POPUATION CONTROL i.e. STERLIZATION IS A MUST. All of us should remember not to feed them anywhere and everywhere, but designate a place outsside the boundary walls of our society, so that they get a habit of eating outside and will eventually stay there only. Idiotic/brainless people in our country feel they are Gods and they are offering food to God. In Kendriya Vihar, NOIDA, it is the worst. Many Sr. citizens are bed-ridden or broken their hip bones, b'cos of these dogs pushing them and biting them. I have been writing to all authorities, all NGOs to do something. Like Nirbhaya's case, a country-wide demonstration can only bring in some relief. more
Some concrete suggestions are required from members to fight this menace more
