Cancellation charges must be reduced to previous charges

Recent hike in cancellation charges are illogical and its kind of extortion.As we have to book tickets 4 months before, therefore there is high uncertainty and rescheduling of date chance is high.
Also on the other hand Tatkal Ticket s are not available in counters,it gets exhausted within 1 minute only.Even for premium Tatkal railway has reduced Tatkal quota.Therefore,its not helping anyway to citizens.Even for waiting list tickets cancellation charges hiked,it gives full impression to the citizens that railway is now in money making freek only.So,anyway for uncertainty we are paying more as penalty even we are not travelling.
Hope ministry will take cognizance of the matter and do something fruitful. more

Cancellation charges are open loot. Railways issues wait listed tickets in advance showing no seat/berth availability in reserved coaches on manipulation of actual availability, taking full charges making a promise to allot confirmed berth on final chart 4 hours before departure of trains. Under What right Railways is usurping people's money despite failing to provide confirmed berths to wait listed passengers when it fails to provide promised service for which it took charges? It is 'Defficency in service' and "Unfair Trade Practice" under "CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT"! more  
Cancellation charges in general and for Senior Citizens should be reduced because they have to cancel their tickets due to various problems of old age . more
