BYE BYE SINGLE USAGE PLASTIC FOR GOOD IN TAMILNADU FROM JAN.2019:
A very good initiative taken by the Government BEFORE THE S.C. ORDER.
It is a tough as well as huge task for the Administration, the Public, the manufactures of single use plastics and the coated ones like cups, plates , spoons.
Solutions required :
*There are 2 Lakh workers actively involved in the Manufacture .
They have to be RE SKILLED , REHABILITATED
*Replacement supply is on papers , to be initiated into fruition .Lots and lots of suggestions with video as well as documents in the circle itself .
* Recycle existing plastic . Around 5.6 million tonnes per annum (TPA) of plastic waste is generated in country, which is about 15,342 tones per day (TPD).Quite a lot hasn’t been recycled still on the Roadsides waterways and Seas and oceans.
There have been several resource Posts that have informed about the research to use Plastic in the Road laying . THE PROPORTION IS 1 TON OF PLASTIC FOR EVERY 9 TONS OF BITUMEN FOR ONE KM OF ROAD.
“the asphalt road lasts for 3 years , ROADS WITH PLASTIC LONGEVITY HAVE 7 YEARS “
WHICH ONE SHOULD WE / AUTHORITIES CHOSE ?
TAX PAYERS AND GENERAL PUBLIC WILL GO FOR THE FORMER .
Let us put our feet down now at least to source the existing plastic to Road Making adding many more valuable suggestions. . It is an Appeal to the Hon’ble Minister Gadkari
Good Step. But same has to be studied for atleast for 6 months to see pros and cons and its effect on plastic based dependents.

We must be wary of Microplastics though. Plastic roads will face wear and tear, leading to assimilation of microplastics in the soil and water bodies, carried by water run-off. Even thermoplastic can be recycled only 2-3 times. Best bet would be to reduce and stop plastic production ASAP. Research needed on alternative materials.

This has to go step by step . The clips are taken from yesterdays HINDU. Todays Hindu gives a success story in NILGIRI DISTRICT WHICH STARTED A BLANKET BAN OF PLASTIC BAN IN 2018. Todays Hindu , gieves the Start of success stories: * There has been a 30-40 reduction in the generation of Plastic Waste during these 11 Months as evident from the Recyclable Plastic waste Venter and Recycle center. *Health Officer says that out of 14,000 Tonnes of general waste there has been a drop of 10% which is to constitute Plastic . After the Ban the authorities should follow the steps the Nilgiri Administration did : # The first is started with ban . # The next should be segregation at the source and be collected the Authorities to make sure 100 % free garbage . # Recycle by using in Road making . AS W ETHE PUBLIC METICULOUSLY SEGREGATE , LET THE AUTHORITIES MAKE A STUDY OF THE RECYCLING MACHINERY AND PROCURE THE WITHOUT WASTE OF TIME . - Clean India.
