Black fungus injection - the racket
Hyd: Rs 5,000 black fungus injection being sold for Rs 70,000 a vial
Vials of liposomal amphotericin is being sold at Rs 70,000 per injection, right under the nose of law-enforcing agencies, patients who bought the medicine secretly confessed. - Economic Times, 18/5/21.
We, in Bangalore, have been trying to get this injection, for the past 3 days. Absolutely no luck. A close contact, who is trying to get us the injection from one of the manufacturers' tells us that all the stock has been given to the govt.
My colleague got a call from some unknown person asking them to transfer ₹2lakhs and then he would deliver the vials. Better sense prevailed and they did not transfer. Trying to see if I can get the phone number of the caller and see if there someone who will trace it.

Dear Mr. Padmanabhan......Anything can be done in India with the hand holding of Police, Politicians and the manufacturer but only small peddlers are caught. They are put behind the bars for few days because Law of Land does not have stringent punishment for such kind of crime. Such people are back to work after being released on bail. Just take small example of road side Nariyal Paani wala, he is selling it for Rs 100.00 per piece which actually costs Rs. 30.00 or so. Police knows everyone who manufactures arms and ammunition illegally but one or may two are caught in a month and thoroughly advertised as if they have closed down the business. When there is demand for any product or services in India, a sudden shortage is created is by touts and by the time things are settled down. The touts have made a good amount. Needless to mentioned where it is distributed.

From one of my whatsapp groups - I HAVE NOT VERIFIED - Govt has announced Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital is dedicated to handle Mucormycosis (Black Fungus). It helps patients to admit here so that they get the specific drug Liposomal *Amphotericin B Inj. No where this inj is available. Fyi If anybody suffering from Black Fungus condition, please ask them to contact Bowring.. nowhere else they are being treated, at least now.

Bhaisaab, you are right, and talking sense ...... but expecting common sense and attention to minor details from Supreme Leader and his workers is a tall task.......all those patients in other hospitals and their relatives better be aatmanirbhar.

The information is correct. But, what are patients who are already admitted in other hospitals supposed to do. Move to Bowring?
Instead, would it not be better for the govt to get the details of those who are in other hospitals (as per need reports, it is about 100) and provide the injection directly to them?
