BIS must create awareness
I think BIS has a good bit if standards but its really lacking in creating awareness. Easy to understand videos in English and Hindi and other languages should be created and circulated in circles whatsapp etc. whats the point of a standard if its created and not used?

yes BIS has to be very much proactive to create awareness among people and then implementation agency has to be strong.It would be good if at least in all cities where they have an office they need to tell people to report it there so that BIS can take action or even in their website and depending upon the location of the complaint it can be directed to the concerned city

Where mentality of Business Class is earning profit at the expense of Quality, then standards go for a toss. What end customer gets is Sub-Standard product for which he has paid and got deceived. When an official takes graft/bribe...his hands are tied and he involuntarily loses his morale and becomes subject to the person and his mental faculties become like that of a Slave...a slave to greed. Government has taken step in right direction to remove all tainted officials and also investigate those officials whose service record is poor.

BIS does not need to do anything to create awareness. BIS is Law. The implementers of BIS viz. departments of procurements, productions, quality controls and despatches need to learn these by heart and implement these "with no influence/pressure from the Management/Marketing"..... This lesson has not been learnt fully so far by the Indian industry......

Sanjanaji,all STANDARDS are useful but there is not enough policing on the implementation from the GOVERNMENT ..hence creating awareness may not serve the purpose..with regards.BN DAS.WP 9831511886,kolkata
