Be ashamed KM Birla

For saying you need a bail out from the Govt to continue Vodafone - Idea as a going concern.

The Govt if you bail this, you need to bail every startup every SME in this country hundreds of which are facing shut down every day.

Who asked KM Birla to get into this business stretch himself to buy Vodafone.

Sell your mansions and real estate dude instead of showing up at conferences with your begging bowl. more

Right, Mr. Sudesh. Why should the government bail out from public sources for incompetency. more
When going went tough for K.M.Birla a decade a ago he threw a tantrum stating that they will shift their offices abroad .Our so called industrial houses have made their fortune by exploiting the situation and by rubbing shoulder with the people in power. During British period their employees were prevented from doing private business but with the help of local front man they used to procure raw materials from India and sell finished goods brought from abroad. They also made money during great Bengal famine and during world war as a supplier of goods and services to the govt. and after Independence by cornering permits and effectively preventing creation of new capacity in the country. This proves that they are not super business person possessing extra ordinary skill.Mobile operators were required to pay fix fees as per original plan of bidding. When fee became due for payment they raised hue and cry than govt.agreed for revenue sharing instead of fixed fees. When govt. asked for its share of revenue they went to the court to delay the payment and they didn't provide for this contingent liability in their balance sheet. Now again crying like a child. There is no reason to handle with glove. If you close the shop some body else will come to occupy that slot.So we are against your mercy petition more
Mr. Birla knew what he is getting into when he tied hands with Vodafone. DoT had given a tax free period to them to pay the taxes later. But that doesn't mean that they do not have to pay taxes. Now that the Govt. has asked them to pay taxes they are crying foul. No leniency should be shown towards them and they should be forced to pay their taxes, including by attaching their properties. If Vodafone doesn't allow their subscribers to not pay their bills if they have some economic problems, then how are they expecting to use the same tax payers money to tide over their scams. more
All, whether they are business people or ordinary citizens want least amount of tax, even that we will find means to cheat but require the highest quality infrastructure. In addition, a section of people will take money and vote to the highest paying scoundrel and the socalled intelligencia will find it more convenient to sit and write comments in social media but never bother to vote. Under these circumstances, business people like KM Birla also would like to milk the rest of the country as much as possible. See how the various phone companies were looting till Jio came into the market. I am sure if Jio goes on increasing the price, another person will undercut him and Jio will start asking for public money. more
All the co-operate houses are getting the benefits of the tax payers and they told they are running the country. While there is no huge profits any business they negotiate with government. Otherwise they have captured all the profitable companies. See the example of Airport metro line give up by Ambani. Electricity department still he is holding. more
