Banned elsewhere but sell in 3rd world countries like India

This company J&J is the worst company in the world. Their CEO and board should be doing jail term. They release products without proper research be it a hip replacement or a baby talcum powder.

So yesterday they have announced they will finally stop the talcum powder which still sells in India in 2023. Lakhs of parents are using it on their kids if not crore. The powder is found to be cancer causing and the company has over 200 law suits.

Indias drug control department which recently had bribery issues slept on the matter too.

We need serious effort to identify all such products that are banned overseas due to safety and health concerns but still selling in India because they think we are a third world country.

Consumer Affairs ministry must also be activated. more

It's really a serious matter. It had been a popular brand among Indian consumers three decades ago. Suddenly such serious issue cropped up. No one ever noticed it so many years. There may be an issue of quality in recent years or may be a business rivalry that created such mess. It's better that an independent agency evaluate the quality and come out with details. We had some poor experiences in recent years in India. Unfortunately, a few got victimised. more
Thank God, I don't use Jhonson & Jhonson products. None in the family also use such products. more
Dusting with talcum powder does help absorb perspiration, protecting the from various pollutants. We have to also look into the fact that legal lobbies have vested interests in making this a big issue, for big payoffs, as Ms. Rohini Bhatt has rightly pointed out. Controversial claim this certainly is! https://mybs.in/2axoiT2 Johnson more
Now that J&J's supposedly unethical practices, not proven yet, are made known, can those who use J&J's talcum powder stop immediately? That will automatically ban J&J's talcum powder. Why use any human-made products on babies? In the decades, and centuries, past parents used to apply coconut oil on babies' body after bath. Or some other natural products. Or, may be none at all. Babies smelled just fine and grew up to be normal adults. Stop enamored by glamor and glitz, and this will be just fine. Best wishes. more
They have been proven alright and J & J had to shell out Billions of Dollars in damages and Lawsuit costs already. more
We should ban the bad products and not the company. Our drugs and food regulators should held accountable for any lapse or laxity. more
